Code P2459

2015 Ram 6.7. 99K miles.

I have a P2459 code "Diesel Particulate Regen Frequency". Read on another post here that it is likely the DPF Differential Pressure Sensor. Read part # 68085750AA directly off the mounted part. I want to replace it my self as it seems not hard to do and a good place to start short of going to the dealer. Want to buy a scan tool to clear the code. Any ideals on a scan tool. Always wanted a scan tool. Looks like those in the $100-150 range might work for me as long as they clear codes on a diesel.

Little experience on diesels. Am I in over my head?

My 20 dollar OBD2 will tell me basic codes and clear most codes. I bought it originally for a Mini that we owned that was always throwing codes. Unfortunately, since owning this diesel dodge I use it almost weekly haha. They are handy, but I wouldn't go overboard unless you plan to do more than read and clear codes. Good luck
