Just wanted confirmation that currently enlight, JJ, opt7 and diode dynamics aka precision led have solutions for hid kits for the 2015 plus trucks ?

I'm basically wanting to replaced projectors in my spyder headlights and also add hid functionality.

Going to experiment with the h1 mini projector clones first. Since they are the cheapest option. But want a hid kit that works on our trucks hence the first paragraph.

I know that jj and the retrofit source have what you need. I think retrofit source is jj's supplier and I think jj has the same price as retrofit source. I ran the hid harness with the resistors for mine. Works fine if you don't mind running the wires and mounting the resistors. There are some inline things that might be an option but you'd have to double check that. Jj had those. Jj has always given me amazing service. Email him and he is right on it. He gave lots of pre and post sale advice plus 2-3 day shipping.

My situation is slightly unique as that I'd like to purchase a solid know working hid solution for the truck 2015+ etc however, I also would like to get the El cheapo h1 mini replicas to test and install as this will be my first attempt on projector retrofit. I don't really want to spend 200-300 for a hid and genuine projector kit. Risk of damage to expensive projector is a possibility. Hence the reason to get a 36 dollar fake from flea bay.

You could probably get the H1 to fit. You might need to make your own brackets to get it to stay in there.

Theretrofitsource does have a spyder retroquik kit but for some reason I cant get their site pulled up. If you call them they can probably just get you the components you need. Their brackets shouldn't cost more than $20. But im sure with some time and a whizzy wheel you can cut em yourself.

That retroquik kit for spyders, I'm thinking that they are just morimoto mini h1 projectors, wasn't aware that they are modified in anyway to fit the spyder headlights ?
I'll have to ask them that question , good point.

For the cheapo set all you would need is a relay harness and resistors and possibly a canbus adapter.
We are both doing the same thing and I know that opt-7 makes a cheap hid kit called the blitz bullet for $27. You can even get the relay harness for free.

Super easy to install and nice cheap price. I have a set and they work fine for trying to do a conversion. I have the H1 and the 9145 for the fogs.
I'm thinking I'm also going to to projectors for the fogs as well. Fogs are an easy starting point to help build my confidence, lol...

Retroshop has what you need for a plug in 2015 HID kit. Jeremy is building a set of lights for my new 2015 right now as well. Blue/Black painted with FXR projectors. I'm excited to get these in. I saw his personal truck with the FXR's, and they were very impressive.

You are very correct and Jeremy does great work but Limey asked specifically for a cheapo set as he is attempting this build and wants to try on a cheap set then once perfected go up to the real deal.
Limey and I are doing the same project and don't want to break the bank to break our equipment. Try it on the cheap and then put it altogether and make a quality product for ourselves...
I saw JJ's custom set he did on his own and they were sick and couldn't be topped but that's also at a super premium. Yes, you get what you pay for but now is one of those times I would like to try and do some things to get an understanding and learn.
Can't wait to see your new blue with his lights and all your mods. Wish I owned a business or worked for one so I could do this...

No mate, not cheapo hid kit , was referring to cheap projectors. Effectively want a solid hid kit that works without tweaking or addition of harness for the truck hid system. Merely wanted a cheap projector to expriment with. But it would appear and I could be wrong that the h1 mini morimoto ones from retro source are modified to fit the spyder housing.

Sorry I misunderstood. I already have the Morimoto HID's for my new tyc projectors and the opt-7's for the Spyders and my fogs. The opt-7s in the fogs are good and I can't wait for my projectors to try the Morimoto's.
I'm still looking for the Spyder kit as well so keep me informed on that front. Since I have a couple of sets I can experiment but still don't want to spend hundreds on projectors until I'm confident.
I just don't want to buy $1500 lights if I can experiment and come up with a nice product for me.

As far as I can tell the retroquik spyder kit is morimoto h1 with brackets to adapt the h1 to the spider. You will need some kind of harness for powering the hid ballast. My understanding is you need a relay harness or some kind of inline resistor with the canbus stuff or older cars with small factory wiring.

I was fine just dropping in projectors and ballasts to a 2011 Hyundai. But a 96 maxima strained to power up in that method so I ran a $30 relay.

Ok thanks for the clarification, so their h1 morimoto are indeed adapted to fit the spyder headlights. That's good to know.

If I were to purchase an h1 hid kit specifically for the ram wouldn't it come with all that is needed to set it up? Meaning no need for relays or so forth. Simply plug and pray. Lol.

The bracket just bolts to the back of the projector then to the holes in the spider lights where the spider projectors were. Unless the h1 dish part blocks the spider holes. If you buy a full kit it would come with a relay and once you told them it was for a 2015, they would have to upgrade you to the dual resistor harness. I think they call it the 13+ ram specific one.

I think whatever you do, you will need a resistor based relay or some canbus plug. The relay harness sucks but works. It's labeled so you know what's battery and ground and such.

If you already have h1 projectors, you should just need the adapter brackets and a relay.

****, so complicated without any pics for a simple minded fellow like myself. I think my best bet would be to get the hardware in place than ask questions when one encounters obstacles. No doubt I'll miss something on the way purchase wise.

Ive been doing moar (LOL) research. Am I correct in thinking that if I go for a 35W canbus hid kit then I will not need to wire directly to battery via a relay harness?

I was thinking a 35W canbus hid kit with anti flicker / error free harness would be a plug and play?
