I have Consile Vault in my 1500 as well as my 2500. Pics below are of my 1500 and have used Console Vault models for years with no issues.

I have a tuffy one as well. been more then happy with it. you will here arguments on both sides to have a fully sides and just the tops. my take on it either someones going to just move on or there going to go after whats in side an if they go after it. they will get into it. one way or another if they really want too.

I also have the Tuffy for the same reason.

So is the Tuffy just a top and the others are full boxes? I’m not sure I want to self tap screws through the console either, are there any that use the factory screws?

My Console Vault is a fully welded box. It uses self tapping screws which when you trade or sell the truck can be removed and are not noticeable inside the bin.

Another point you may wish to consider is the gauge of the steel. Tuffy is 18 gauge whereas Console Vault is 12 gauge. Please understand I’m not knocking any product...just providing info.

I appreciate the input, I have gun safes under the seats that attach by cables but now that I installed the console I think it would be a better solution as the under seat ones slide around and drive me nuts.
I appreciate all the input from the forum members, I wanna buy once cry once.

One other option you might consider in the link below as it actually screws to the sides of the inside of the console but also bolts to the bottom of the console so it literally can’t be ripped out. I have a buddy with one and it is in there like concrete. The video is for a Ford but they make the same thing for a Ram.
