When you guys lift your 4x4, specific to our 4th gens. I notice the trucks have more lean that ford/chevy, did the ride stiffen up and keep more level or did you guys change out the anti-roll bars?

Just wondering as I debate King or Fox setup. Not gonna lift it to the sky, just give it a 2-3" lift higher than stock.

Basically any aftermarket shock is going to stiffen the ride compared to the factory suspension so that works in your favor. A 2-3 inch lift in the front is basically just leveling out the factory rake. Lifting the vehicle in the first place increases the center of gravity and obviously works against you. What are you looking to do with the truck when completed?

If you are all high speed both on and off road I know hellwig makes a rear sway bar for the 1500 that is supposed to assist with reducing body roll while cornering. This wouldn't be good for crawling situations where you need full articulation. I don't believe they make a front bar as the stock bar is already the size they would use but I could be wrong.

Awesome! This is a city cruiser majority of the time. I live in phx so its nice to have a slightly lifted truck to go trailing around, find some remote spots for shooting in the desert. I see so many crap lift jobs 6-10" in the air and all it is are blocks and spacers... makes no sense. I want a functional truck that I can have some fun in. Like a raptor without the price tag HAHA!

I was gonna change the UCA, and 4 corner suspension... just didn't know if the sway bars are really in line or not.

I think you have answered that question though.

Very clean looking. I think id like my front end another inch higher. But your truck now looks like a mans truck.

With your open country tires being 35, any rub? Mpg decline badly?

If you're looking for a raptor without the price tag, be prepared to drop some serious coin on that build. I came into it initially with that mindset and a build like that you're looking a solid $20k, quite possibly more.

Oh god no. I wasn't thinking full on raptor. Lol. Since no one really knows the valving on the fox shocks it's also hard to know exactly what they did to it. Had a friend get rid of his raptor in 4 years due to the fox shocks getting ridiculously soft and lean a lot.

I guess when I meant raptor like, is height and stance. We are already almost the same regarding handle and roof line, clearance underneath might be less mid point, bumper for sure we are off. I was not talking a full on raptor. If I went that way I might as well do long travel arms haha.

Ya I wish I could level it out more but with the air suspension i'm limited... My tires are only 11.5' wide so no rubbing issues. I've only had them on since Tuesday so I don't really know how much my MPG dropped.

I wouldn't say you need to drop 20k to get raptor performance. You can get above raptor performance from about 10-11k installed most likely.

3.0" CHASE SERIES LONG TRAVEL SYSTEM

Not kings or foxs but drop another 3k and you could have some sweet custom valved kings.

Not saying you need or want a dual front shock setup....thats for some serious ****. They have other kits for under 5k with 16" of travel.

We have members here with the fox struts and rear shocks only and they claim it rides like a dream, much better than stock. Not sure about longevity but I'm still searching and reading. These only give 2" lift, if you want more you should consider Bilstein 5100 adjustable struts, they can go a max of 2.8".

Interesting as the fox struts, pending style you get, go 2" OR 2.5". Both fox and king are rebuildable, you just have to send it into them and wait. Means either replacement struts and shocks or factory... I have heard that fox are super nice, as the members stated, but reading on the ford and chevy forum, after a few years of use (4 years) things tend to go south with fox. Probably by design, so you know when it is time to rebuild or replace the oil or something to keep them at their peak. I don't know though. Nothing I am rushing into, thank goodness, doing my do diligent with research before dropping 3.5k into the suspension.

Go Bilstein and you will be happy. Go with Fox/King/Icon and you will also be happy but your wallet will be much lighter.

Just stay away from Rancho Quicklifts. I have them and they rode great at first but after a year I want them gone bad.

It probably doesn't help that I just put on Magnum ICI bumpers front and rear

Your wallet may be lighter after the Kings but you will be happier! I have a 2 inch level with Kings on all 4 corners and I can tell you the truck is ridiculous. I wouldn't try and jump the truck or anything... at least until i get some better bump stops! Thuren has an option for the hemi now. You'll never look back!

i was actually thinking about some nice king hydro bump stops, but for the front ill need some custom welding for the bump stop and a pad on the lower control arm. Not sure how ill do the rear based on where the pads are currently.

Can you go higher than 2 inches? I'm trying to find something that will get me close to 3 inches

You could call or email Thuren and ask but I seem to remember he didn't recommend going over 2 without a full lift (differential drop brackets etc).

Part of that is how the shocks are valved to work with the springs. If you lift the front end too high you lose alot of down travel which will make the truck nose down when you hit whoops since the suspension has nowhere else to go. Obviously bilstein thinks 2.8 up front is fine since they have that as an option.

Also dont forget the stock tuires are 33s so a 35 will increase ride height by a full inch. From the sound of it a 2" level and some 34-35 inch tires will do everything you need and more. You'd be amazed what I drive over at home and I'm only an inch high in the front right now. Excuse the wife's inability to turn the phone sideways....
