Unlock with a sales code and put in the map pack from an SD card. I would just use my phone it has been way more accurate than the factory Navs that I have used in the past. Plus idk if anyone ever sees the little google car running around with cameras on the top but the updates and street view that roll out are by far the best features that I have ever used.

Yes I believe you you are correct about the 13's.

I just could not bring myself to pay $150.0 for NAV updates so I traded my 12 2500 for a 14 Jeep Grand Cherokee. :Good or Bad::hands:

The U connect Is ******** too, Lets see $20.00 a month for the Unconnect Crap,$35.00 per month for the wirless hotspot plus $15.00 per month for Sirrus Xm.

Of course they give you 1 yr free trial for uconnect and sirrus.

I for one do not need or want that crap, sirrus sucks!!

Drivers already have to many distractions in their vehicles and this just adds to them.

Drivers are doing everything except paying attention to driving, drinking eating, smoking, talking on their phones, putting on makeup and now the Uconnect adds voice texting, yelp, weather and other ********!

Of course if you buy the $300.00 lockpic you can defeat all the safety programming of the u nconnect so you can do all the stuff built into connect while driving adding more distractions instead of f*%#ing driving!!

They are compressing the audio of sirrius to the point it sounds like crap.

If you drive more than 6hrs the tapes they play repeat themselves and they play them several times per week, per month.

Sirrius started out not having commercials now they do!!

The U-connect as we all know has serious issues with its programming and function of controlling all that it does in your vehicle.

You are suppose to be able to purchase a stand alone OEM CD player the great engineers of the system can not even get this to work!!

I have been ripping my cd's to a thumb drive as wav files or MP3 this music sounds great compared to sirrius radio.

I also stream audio from pandora or rhapsody threw my cell phone this also sounds better than sirrius XM!!!

ONE OF THESE YEARS THEY MAY GET IT ALL TO WORK WITH OUT SO MANY PROBLEMS!!!

Sorry OP RANT OVER!!

PLEASE JUST GIVE ME BACK MY 8 TRACK!!! haha

HAHA nice rant :)

i agree with the distractions.. i have the nav in my truck and to tell you the truth i think i have used it maybe 10 times since i purchased the truck in early aug. If it wasnt on there i would not have added it unless i talked it into the deal.

on the sat radio.. i have never paid over $25 for 6mo of service. just tell them you want to quit or give you this deal and they do. the kicker is they hop you forget and dont call back in 6 mo to cancal then they charge you full price. i just set a reminder to cancel on my cal.

I was just in a city that I was unfamiliar with. I have the RBZ without nav. My iPhone on Google maps did the trick and the voice commands came over like a phone call over the radio.

It probably would've streamed if I had it plugged into the glove box, but I wanted to see the map as well. It still worked.

I have the 730 in the Challenger, and I like having it all integrated.... but the cost of the updates for the maps are idiotic.

Sirius/XM hasn't changed the way they do adverts. I've been a subscriber since literally a month after XM launched its first satellite. All music channels are commercial free, and the rest of them have commercials. That said, since the XM/Sirius merger, the content quality is down hill. It's like any local junk radio station, but without commercials. I think after my 1 year is over, I'll probably cancel... except for the data services they provide, because those are nice when you're not in cellular range. Weather, traffic, etc.

JM2C:

Sirius/XM is still worth the price depending on where you live. I never have any issues with content delivery. You can also use their website to fine tune your radio stations.

I had the dealer throw in my Navigation enable during the sales deal. The dealer would normally charge $750 for the option. They had asked if I would be willing to split the cost, and I told them I'd rather look elsewhere for the same truck at a cheaper price. The Garmin software installed on the 8.4A is worthwhile if you prefer not having additional items all over your interior. In previous vehicles, having a GPS on the windshield and a phone mount, in addition to a radar mount is just too much junk cluttering up my view. Let alone, you need more power sources (splitters and cable) for the devices you have.

With that said, I'd be willing to pay up to $500 to have the option enabled being that you shouldn't need to pay for map updates. Higher resale value in the event you trade in the vehicle, too.

Different strokes ;)

Dealer quoted me 575. And said they would need my truck for 30 min. What warrants this cost. The truck already has all the gps features built into it. They just unlock them.

Just that some people will pay for it. It's pure profit. You can get a better quality GPS unit with lifetime updates for a fraction of the cost, and that's including hardware.

The only regret I have so far is getting a truck with the 8.4 system. It's absolute garbage.

Yea I think its greedy on Chryslers part. No need for 600 dollars plus update fees. 3/4 hundred would be OK to me. They would probably end up making more money in the long run if they lowered the price.
