cracked dashboard

I just recently got my second Ram,a 2002 Quad Cab 1500 2wd.It has low mileage....65,000 to be exact and for a 10 year old truck it's in great shape.This afternoon the dash cracked from the windshield to the glovebox,and I am curious if this has happened to anyone else here? Was there a known defect for this particular truck? thanks in advance.

yah, mine has done the same thing, very common problem, and it starts cracking else where too.

mine has a nice hole above the steering wheel it holds a large fry prefectly so i cant complain about it

Yeah, Unfortunately the cracked dashes are very common in the Dodges, You can get a cheap carpet style dash cover that velcro's in place to cover it and they look pretty good.

park your truck in the shade get one of them fancy windshild sun reflector things

mine was perfect till i bought the truck truck had 148k on it and not a crack then the heater core got a hole and it fell apart when i was removing it to replace the heaer core
also i have a bad stering box and mud tires and the vibration is tearing it apart o and the truck only has 155k on it no hey go down hill quick when they go

Just buy a dash cap, goes right over your dash and is barely noticeable. Comes color matched too!

^ that looks exactly like the one i have, probably is but not sure, previous owner bought it. Its really nice, I honestly forget that I have it all the time, they look factory and fit great

all in gonna do with mine is fiberglass 3 gauges above the radio and fix the cracks and recover mine in tweed since im doing my interior in grey and tan or all black
