It’s a stupid design if you ask me. Most of not ALL people use some sort of mat. And if using floor liners of some sort it’s a PIA to get to them. I don’t use mine and probably never will.

The fact that a lot of people don’t know about them is a good indication if their uselessness.

I don't think they were intended for daily-use items. Look what most people use them for - ratchet straps, jumper cables, compressors, tools, etc. They're a great idea especially for a pickup that doesn't have a lot of covered storage. What does it take to lift the mats? I have a floor liner and it's no big deal to occasionally lift it. But you have every right not use them...

Most RAM owners know they exist. The fact that some people aren't aware of them indicates how many people don't clean their trucks! lol

i follow the same theory with my 4 wheels as my 2 wheels. I bought it to drive it, not clean it!

but then there's my son who has the worst vehicle for his job and lifestyle. he does mobile stone chip repairs and has the tent, toolkit, chair, table etc he has to bring with him to the job site. kid needs a truck. then he is always at a parking lot close to a mcdonalds, a & w , etc so he's picking up fast food. last time i saw his vehicle he had a big garbage bag in the back full of fast food containers, he needs a truck;)

just checked mine and it does not have a drain. at least the passenger side one doesn't. didn't check the drivers side

I don' think mine has drains but the little plastic bin comes out so you could easily just dump the excess ice/water in the event you want to use them that way.

Yeah I had mine right out and definitely no drains inside it or outside it. And if the Outdoorsman has a drain you'd think it would be more of a system than just a hole in the bottom. the sleeve it sits in you would expect to have a drain too to match. with some kind of valve not just a hole outside to open air. recipe for dirt and crud to get in there and such. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my boss's part. If not, Ram doesn't seem to brag up the "additional" feature on their Outdoorsman website page.

All good points, I'm fine with it not having drain holes for those reasons and I just don't find it a big deal to take them out to empty if I wanted to use them in that capacity. Your boss may be mistaken, I'm not sure they would switch something up like that for one particular package, could be wrong though as I've never been in an outdoorsman before.

I use mine all the time. Both of em. One side has snacks for when I go fishing and the other side has ice and Diet Coke’s in it. Behind the seat is some of my bugout gear aka: by myself camping equipment
The gunrack has fishin poles in it. Under the seat is a rifle my pistol is on my hip so no one messes with me.
Maybe I should put a drain in mine then I wouldn’t have to pull the inside liner out to dump it

yay! proof exists. I was inclined to believe they didn't. Maybe it's his wishful thinking. Or maybe he drilled holes in the bins. But he didnt' say that.

I'm done losing sleep over it..hahahah!

And an on-board defibrillator

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

actually he works out and looks to be pretty good shape, 22 years old this past Monday. But, looks can be deceiving. Kids eat so much garbage and laze around so much today they can look great simply by being young enough to get away with it but have no stamina or strength.

Mine are stuffed. One side has my winch controls, bungies, and a short tow strap I use to put around trees (never hook a winch to its own cable). The other side has jumper cables, ratchet straps, and an actual tow strap.

I can't put anything under my seat - I bought a 'leftover' that came with the Alpine stereo system, so the subwoofer takes up pretty much all of that.
same here

I wired my cutout wirres through the passenger side one, under the carpet to the console. Came in very handy.

Passenger side I keep the teeth of the bodies. Here's a math question kids if I had 3,258 teeth how many people does that add up to? Drivers side skinned fingers so no one can identify them, (and some cheetos).

Depending on if they had their wisdom teeth, somewhere between 102 and 117 peoples

I think this number could be much higher if you are in Tennessee! Like 500+

Whiskey in the driver’s side and bright roadside emergency vest, gloves, etc on the passenger side. My Longhorn floor mats are easy to lift for floor bin access.

Is this storage only on crew cabs? I’m about to change my quad interior over to better seats and wondering if there’s anything usable under the carpet?

I went to a handful of dealerships when I was shopping for my Ram and every one of them showed me the under floor bins and told me they make great coolers. They all said just throw some ice and drinks in there for your road trips. I was convinced that they were trained to make that a selling point because so many different sales people said the same thing.
