I have a 2010 Ram 1500 SLT. The grills for the front door speakers are clearly 6X9. Even the picture they have on Crutchfield shows the shape of a 6X9 in the front door. But they say 6X9's don't fit and are only showing me 5.25, 6.5 and 7" recommendations. What's going on?

personally i would do a set of 6.5" components any day over 6x9.

6x9 tend to be on the deeper size maybe that is why they do that

I certainly agree with baum but if you insist on 6x9 then pop one out and measure the depth mainly then search online till you find a match. Too deep and it will hit the window track. Magnet diameter may be good to document as well.

Alright, thanks, everyone. I'll just go with 6.5's so I don't have to worry about 6x9's not fitting right.

Yes, the depth is the issue. I just replaced mine recently. The factory speakers are shallow with a small magnet and there aren't a lot of aftermarket 6x9s that fit.
