They do make a door for it. Runs around $200 and is easy to install.

Yeah. I throw my gloves in it. And anything I’m using while working. I might be the only one who actually like the open box

I didn't know you could get one without a cover. Both mine have doors on them.

My last had the upper glove box, much prefer the open style on my current. My wife makes good use of it on road trips.

Just goes to show how different we like our trucks. I much prefer the upper glove box and added it to my 2017 Express last weekend.

I'm curious how she uses it on road trips. I've only seen people put a box of Kleenex there, maybe some gloves.

Convenient spot for her phones (work & personal) primarily which keeps the cup holders free. Jump seat in my 17 which I love but it came at the expense of some of the center console storage space my 09 Laramie had & with the backrest up, the "shelf" on the passenger side becomes even more useful.

I don't care either way, glove box or hole. My Wife, though, loves it, as is.
She tosses her phone and kindle in there, along with anything that she plans on using during our trip.

When my wife uses it it has her purse, snacks, glasses, phone and any other stuff you could possibly imagine.

I like the cubby above the glove box. I cut a thin rubber mat to fit the bottom to keep stuff from sliding around. Don't use it a lot myself. My wife fills it up with stuff of all sorts. She has to use the cubby because she always has the passenger door pocket full. During the winter we do a lot of trips. I clean her side of the truck every week and have found the door pockets completely full of napkins and I have a regular cab with the long doors and an extra pocket!

i like it being open, one good use is a loaf of bread fits perfectly in it, no more squished bread lol

but as others have said, its a good passenger cubby for road trips and keeps phones and junk out of the cup holders

I put the glovebox in mine,I work in San francisco so your window will get smashed if there's anything in the cubby without a door.San Francisco is just a cess pit now.

^^^It is not just San Francisco. Anything left in view worth more than $0.25 will disappear within minutes in certain areas here too.

Spot on. Once a week I go thru her truck and clean out 10lbs of stuff. SLOWLY she is starting to understand.

Im a newb here and to Rams, was gonna ask the same question. I might put the door on it like the guys have suggested, but for now I had some extra black Seadeck I stuck in there so if a passenger puts a phone down, it won’t slide around. Like you, I would prefer a door, not crazy about the price tag for it.
