I really want to do a 12 valve long block cummins swap on my 05 dodge 1500 do yall think itll fit? I also want to get some Mikey thompson baja boss at 35x15s on it its stock height rn do i need to lift it and/ or get spacers?

Someone on here years back did this swap to a 2002 after blowing the original 360. He wanted it to function like a factory install (properly functioning factory diesel gauges, start and stop like it's supposed to, etc). As I recall he didn't regret doing it but said he wouldn't do it again lol. Took him like 3 months just to get it to fire like it should then another 4 to 6 I think to get the bus routing correct so that the gauges would work. Most people don't seem to realize that it's alot harder to do a swap like this to a modern computer controlled vehicle if you want everything to actually work correctly.

If you had a donor 2500 with the diesel and did a full wiring harness and computer and everything it would be a lot easier.

Thank yall, I dont really know much about engines and all that i only know enough to do general upkeep and maintenense so i probably wont be doin this swap for know atleast. Maybe down thhe road in a few years.

There is zero reason to put that engine in a 1500. You are looking at changing engine, trans, wiring, entire fuel system, suspension, pretty much everything. The work involved (to do it right) would far out weigh just picking up a 2500.
