Thinking about dropping some Rockford Fosgate P132 Punch 3.5" speakers in the dash and was looking to check clearance. I've had vehicles that were hard to change out dash speakers in the past because there was no room for bigger magnets.

Anyone know what kind of mounting depth is in the dash for aftermarket speakers? Think I'll have any issues getting the P132's in there?

There is no depth issues with the P132's. That being said the speaker itself is just not a great fit. I managed to squeeze and force them mostly into place, I honestly wouldn't recommend them. Check Crutchfield, they will tell you which speakers fit best.

Dremel cures all fitment issues with dash speakers. Plastic is easy to cut through so just take it slow or even a rounded file works great too.

I'm going with the Rockford's because I'm OCD and that's what all the 6x9's are. Plus I like their speakers. Wonder how hard a Dremel is to get in there, lol. I'm sure I'll figure it out, was just curious if other's have put in aftermarkets and how they fit.

Yeah, I need to get me one. I've had my Dremel about 10 years and it didn't come with one. I've seen them though and they look super handy.

That's what I have In my dash. Didn't have to trim anything for them to fit

I've had many different 3.5s in my dash. They all fit w/o issues. The center is the tightest fit (depth-wise). They also all sound like crap, and my holes are now empty. :)

I had 3.5" Kickers and bass-blockers in my dash, but they sounded too harsh with the highs. I have emptied the holes like kkreit01, and have Polk 6.5 components and tweeters in the front doors. It sounds a lot cleaner this way.
