Anyone running a Dashmat on their truck??? Was considering this option as opposed to a windshield cover. If you are and have pics I'd love to see them!

Hey Jim, I just got one yesterday. Not sure if I'm going to keep it, though. Need to let it settle a few days and see if I like it or not. Hate covering up the beautiful dash, but since I had massive cracking on my 2nd gen Ram I don't want to risk it. I'll take some pictures later today for you.

I was thinking about one, but it'd just give my darn dog more reason to jump up there...

Here ya go, Jim. Keep in mind it hasn't flattened out and I haven't put the velcro on yet.

Things that bother me: 1) the hump over the gauge cluster does not fit real well. 2) the cutouts for the defroster vents have no edging and look cheap. 3) no openings for the dash speakers. 4) The material has a sparkly reflection on the glass making it look like the windshield is always dirty.

I think I'm going to send it back. :(

Looks weird where it hangs down over the upper glove box too. I guess I would have a door for my cubby hole! :rotflmao:

I don't care for the looks of a dash mat, personally.

Gross... That looks like a terrible 80's mod from a honda hatch back.

I guess where I live dashes don't do that cracking thing that is common on second gen. I would not like something like this but maybe some do to each his own.

Yuck. I'd buy a lot of new dash boards before I got one of those.

Dashmat was the first mod I did. We took the truck to the mountains for a ride and the reflection of that damn tan was horrific! Don't get me wrong I love the looks of the dash, but under certain lighting conditons its obnoxious.

Don't use armourall on your dash. It makes it shiney. IIRC Mothers is non-reflective.

No when I experienced the reflection it was brand new from the dealer, never had been detailed. I was on a mountain road in late afternoon, looks much better since the black mat. The dashmat isn't the prettiest i'll admit, but at least I can see out my windshield.

I have an 07 that I bought in AZ and drove back to Ny. When I first showed up to pick it up and got in it I immediately said I was throwing the ugly dash mat out in the first dumpster I passed. After the first 100 miles I realized that it was growing on me. I put my phone or glasses on the dash and they stayed put, not sliding all like they normally would have. I admit it is ugly but I can't throw it away now. Ill post pics later and after 4 years in the hot AZ sun the dash has zero signs of wear or cracking.
