After reading all the posts about the XpressKit 3x lock button remote start I couldn't wait to have my own. Ordered one from the Doug guy on Ebay and had it in a couple days. Had it all hooked up in under 5 minutes and then that's where the excitement ended...

The unit did not start the truck. I emailed the seller on Ebay and he helped me with some trouble shooting. I realized that with my model truck there were two extra wires that had to be hard wired in even with the "plug and play" harness. Okay no big deal, hooked them up and still nothing!

The dash lights up and everything turns on the way a remote start is supposed to work. Then I just hear the starter clicking. It sounds as though everything is working but the starter is just not getting enough volts to crank.

The seller on Ebay recommended I contact tech support for XpressKit. After some back and forth with them I found that the "starter wire" from the module is not producing the required 12 volts. They suggested the harness was bad. Contacted the Ebay seller again and got a new harness under an exchange. Got it today, plugged it in, and same problem. I've even reflashed the DBall module.

I decided to say screw the harness and just hard wire the entire thing. (It was only a few extra wires) Well.... still nothing. Everything on the dash lights up, radio turns on, and everything works the way a remote start is supposed to but the starter is just not engaging. The "starter wire" is still not getting 12 volts. I emailed tech support again, but they are located in Canada and closed on weekends. I won't hear back til Monday.

Does anyone have any ideas? This is driving me crazy. I ripped out my $300 aftermarket remote start that I was not happy with in order to put this in and now I'm remote startless and very sad! :sad72:

Sorry this is lengthy but I wanted to include everything I've tried so that hopefully someone can help me troubleshoot.

did you ever resolve this issue? I looked at his ebay page but did not see the 3rd gen T harness is that what you used? If so do you have the model # as i was looking to get one.

I'm actually waiting for a new DBALL module. After emailing him a final time he offered to switch out the module under warranty in case there was a fault with it. So hopefully that will be the end of it.

The harness for the third gen is the CHTHD2. The directions are a little confusing as there are 8 different install methods listed for our truck. I'll update this post when I get the new module. Feel free to ask if you order one and need any help. I think I'm pretty much an expert with this thing by now. Ha I've been dealing with this for about three weeks and installed and uninstalled it several times now.

Got my new module in the mail today. Plugged it right in and it worked like a charm. Guess I just had a bad module. I really wish I would have known about this before wasting all the money I have on remote starts in the past!

I have 2010 Ram with a 5.7L. Last month I installed the DB-ALL Xpresskit with the CHTHD1 HARNESS. It started doing the same thins you were experiencing. I was wondering if the new DB-ALL was a permanent fix.
Thanks, bigjohn

The new module has been working with no problems. I think I may have just had a bad unit.

Did you have to install a relay for the - parking lights?

Can you go into more detail on what wires to hook up. I have the harness, and the two wires on the left ignition hooked up.

Thanks
