It needs to be warm, very warm. But not the heat from a heat gun. A hair dryer works best and won't melt the paint. Start at a corner and peel back towards an opposite corner. Take your time. That goo gone stuff works good on any residual adhesive.

FWIW.....I removed the "Sport" stickers from my 2000 Dodge truck. Used a hairdryer and pulled right off. I know that was a long time ago, but no clearcoat on it. It was a few years after 2000 and no paint difference really noted. There was a very slight outline of glue, but a good aggressive wax job cleaned it right up.

I took mine off of my 2018 hd, it's not clear coated over, on a warm day I just picked a corner and peeled away, zero residue and waxed the area

So I decided to debadge my truck, getting the badges off is easy with a hair dryer and fishing line but it leaves a huge chunk of adhesive. Fair warning, this is no 10 min job, removing that adhesive with goo gone and elbow grease will take you a few hours. Ive decided to go pick up the 3M adhesive remover wheel. Just FYI for anyone planning on debadging.

I am going to de-badge my chrome badges, but will wait until next summer now.
