Hello new member here ….
I own 2024 Ram 3500 crew Cab tradesmen edition in dually configuration with a ranch hand brush guard in front . Family of 4 of us live to camp and we regularly camp ones or twice a month . I am in the market for winch and wants the one that goes inside behind the bumper . After a long call with etrailer they recommended Superwinch 18k that comes with everything for it to go behind the bumper the bumper . Was wondering if there’s any other ones that I may look into or consider besides Superwinch that can be installed hidden behind the front bumper ..
Thanks

I don't like my winches hidden behind the bumper. Hard to get at, hard to re-spool, REALLY hard to undo a tangle. No fun if you are in water or deep mud either.

That said, you could check and see if the Power Wagon hidden winch mount will fit on your 3500.

Warn 8274 with a larger motor, rated to 12,000 Lbs and still needed a snatch block more than once.

Warn 16,500 TI in a warn transformer mount on a 2021 Ram 2500. Top picture was the Warn, I had a Champion 16,000 on it for one year when I first bought the pickup; you can see in the next pictures. Got rid of it because it was impossible to pull it out in free spool, and it had very slow line speed under power. The Warn is more money but a FAR better winch. I only took the Champion because in 2021 the were no large Warn winches available. Luckily, my accessory guy is a great fellow and gave me full credit on the Champion against the price of the Warn.

29 year old 10,000 Lb Warn on a 1996 2500 V10. Used it a ton, never a lick of problems. This pickup weighs just over 8,000 Lbs rigged to hunt, so this winch got snatch blocked a LOT. It is why I put the 16,500 pound version on the replacement pickup.

If this is a Cummins truck, verify that any winch will not interfere with the intercooler or restrict the airflow to it if you tow heavy that intercooler needs to breathe to be able to cool the compressed charge air down.

I have a PW. If your truck has the Cummins I'm pretty sure the factory PW mount will not work. That is because of the intercooler in the Cummins. I also have a few other vehicles with winches and agree that I'm not a fan of hidden or behind the bumper winches for the reasons already mentioned. However for sporadic use in these situation it would be okay.

Vice Design offers a hidden winch mount and I see one offered on eBay. After a quick search did not see any other option....but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
