I'm curious to know myself. I was one of the ones that had a problem with the original Ram kit on my 2013, and Dee Zee swapped me out for a Ford kit. I went straight to the Ford kit on my 2014. I know that one fits :)

Ordered mine a week or so ago after seeing the other thread about it. Just got around to installing it this evening and it is smooth as can be. No rubbing or anything. My last truck was a 08 tundra and had it from the factory and didn't have to have a extra shock. I think this should be standard equipment but either way I had to have it after how much I liked it on the tundra. No problems at all, go ahead and order it.

I'm so wondering if this is why the shops around here can't get them. Most places are telling me they are back ordered from their warehouses.

That's what I've heard, I've still got the old incorrect style on my truck...

Got mine

Hey Guys... I just got my DEEZEE DZ43301 unit and I am having one HECK of a time with that doggone nutserk device :wtf2:.. I followed the installation directions and CANNOT get that thing to tighten up right It felt rather firm and after showing some friends how it works, the nutserk is loose and wobbling around and I HATE THAT!!! I called their tech support and the lady suggested I leave a little moreoom between the washer and the head of the bolt... I tried that and it was NO DIFFERENT. They did send me another install kit but I am VERY apoprehensive about trying to install it again... ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM and HOW DID YOU CORRECT IT??

THANK YOU..

Hey Bud,

Make sure the sides of the nutsert aren't bent inward. I luckily had a spare one from a previous kit that I used. Mine wouldn't flare out because the sides/outer walls of the nut were bent opposite of the way you need them to flare...I wonder if Dee Zee is getting a bad batch of nutserts.

I had a time with it also. When holding the allen wrench and turning the nut it would just turn the whole thing and backing the allen screw out and would never tighten up. I held it at a angle sort of pinning it against the side of the hole. Then I could get the nut to turn without spinning the anchor or whatever you call the part you are trying to flange out. Then after getting in in pretty good I straightened it up as in not pinning it against the sides and it went in correctly. I agree it was a ***** to get right but everything else was easy. Good luck

Just installed mine in yesterday! (It's past midnight here lol) This is the correct kit everybody #DZ43301. Just like these previous posts, the nutsert is the main part you really have to pay close close attention to when installing! When installing the nutsert, I highly recommend a T-Handle style Allen wrench so that you can firmly hold the allen bolt in place while installing the nutsert. Another thing I also recommend is removing the allen bolt (and washers) so that you can see the inside of the nutsert. If you look inside the nutsert, the threads inside it are what the ball mount will thread into. Once the ball mount (thread lock applied) is tightened into the nutsert, the ball mount should be firmly secured. I recommend letting it dry for a little bit so the ball mount is nice and tight. It is ok if you remove the allen bolt and washers (prior to installing the nutsert) because you can just use a tape measure to measure out the 3/4'' distance from the washer to the head of the bolt. The nutsert/ball mount is one of the parts you have to really pay attention to because it is going to hold all the weight of the tailgate when you open it. Make sure that that ball mount is properly installed into that nutsert.

Good Luck :naughty:

Forgot to mention: other than the nutsert being a sonamabeech, everything else was pretty straight-forward and it drops so smooth :naughty:

I TOTALLY AGREE.... OTHER than the nutserk, INSTALLATION IS QUICK and RATHER SIMPLE... I have EVERY CONFIDENCE that ONCE I get the nutserk INSTALLED PROPERLY, I WILL LIKE THIS DEVICE!!! I have been knocked down a few times trying to lower the tailgate with my arms full and that is nOT FUN!!!

Ok it came in and in less than 30 minutes its done. I will tell all about that stinking squeeze nut on the tailgate. You need to use a little light 3in1 oil or wd40 on the bearing. If you dont as you trun your 9 full tuns you wont notice the nut is also turning and it will simply unthread. You need it to stay still just like the bolt. The only thing that should turn is the nut and bearing. Once thats on everything else was a breeze.
I clipped the tang off of my cable stop intead of removing it at the tailgate end of the cable.
The Bad, even though the kit is revised and says 'Dodge" The allen wrench was not the right size. You need to get your own torx wrench or socket.
The good, It comes now with the drop lower pin so you dont have to clip or bend your cable keeper at the top and no binding up at all.

All in all very good mod. works great right out of the box.

Way to Go Dee Zee!

Got the 43301 (replacement from DeeZee for the 43300) in early Feb. and no rubbing. Had to use a little touchup paint to cover up the spot that had been rubbed off by the old one.

I FINALLY got that nutsert to expand;) I ended up getting a second nut and putting it on the other end of the bolt where it exits the back side of the nutsert. Once I got some pressure on it, the nutsert quit turning and it expanded PROPERLY. I tried the oil, WD40 and it was suggested to use LokTite on the inside of the flange.. Now it is GREAT and I LOVE IT... WORKS PERFECT......

If Dee Zee would texture the tailgate side of the nutsert problem solved! It shouldnt be able to spin a bit of knerling and we could press in and turn.

So can you just get the correct part or do you have to replace the whole thing?
