Anyone with the Dee Zee Tailgate Assist see why you couldn't put another one on the other side too. I have a pretty thick spray in bedliner and thought I'd assist the assistor. :secret:

I think it would work on the other side. Can't see why not. Just check the tailgate for the small hole about 3 inchs from the hinge. If it's on both sides then it should be good.

You can only have ONE on the drivers side. It will pop the tailgate off the hinge if you install another one on the passenger side.

What if he put a hose clamp on the passenger side where the tailgate slips over that bottom piece? To hold the gate on as it moves? Would that work for him you think?

Never though about that.

This was my plan now that I cannot simply remove my tailgate cause of the backup cam I just installed. Would make me think down the road why is this there

You could try. Id doubt if it would work though.

I have one on my 07 Ram bc the tailgate doesn't lock, to prevent theft of the tailgate. It won't budge (pull outward at all) on mine, so that is why I thought it might help on his.

I ground the head of the screw drive part down so mine can't be removed with a screwdriver either. Only a grinder will get it. Even a pair of shears/etc would be next to impossible to cut it with I think.
