I picked up my truck a few weeks ago and found the window sticker and it is supposed to have the bed step but it’s not on there. Has this happened to anyone else? Or does anyone know how to get it? Also wove tried to get some wheelhouse liners from the dealer but they say they can’t get any. Anyone know where to get some? Thanks! BTW 2019 2500 Bighorn level 2 package

The bed step was recalled for safety reasons and I do not believe they have a fix yet. I would definitely bring it to the dealers attention so they are tracking it when a replacement is available but from what I remember reading that may be a long way out given our current situation.

Your step was probably removed due to the recall. The dealer should replace it with a new one now.

Ok I’ll have to call them and ask. Thanks for the info.

Make sure you get a "we owe" or something else in writing if it's a recall removal/replacement, especially if the solution is a ways out.

I just talked to the dealer that did the recall on my truck and they said they took it off and waiting on Chrysler to reengineer it so if it’s in a wreak it doesn’t go into the fuel tank. So I’m not sure. Does anyone know how or who to contact at Chrysler?

Check the recall status on the Ram website. You can do it by VIN and it will give you the status of your particular truck. There are two recall statuses. People who bought there trucks before the recall get it fixed. Trucks that were still on lots and unsold simply have the step deleted. I bought my 2019 2500 Bighorn in August used with about 3500 miles on it. The step was removed. Recall is considered complete and I am **** out of luck. You can purchase the step from Amp Research for $280 or so but I don't know if it's been reengineered or the old one sold as aftermarket.

Does the new step not have the tab on the left side to make deploying it a bit easier like the original? I haven't taken mine in for the recall yet, I was thinking of waiting until spring so I have less time for salt to eat it ;)

Interesting that the photo they are using in that link looks Identical to the Amp step and much different the the original Mopar step. Could be just a standard photo they used but wonder if they just decided to re-brand the amp step and go with that?
.
It looks like the recalled Mopar step tucked up nicer than the AMP step. I imagine Ram didn't re-engineer the first version and probably are replacing them with the AMP steps. Anyone have the new step installed that can share a photo?

NH RAM, here ya go, I believe they only changed the bracket as the fold out step part looks the same but the bracket is much stronger and larger. IMG_1377.jpg IMG_1378.jpg

Called the ram care 800#. Told them my bed step recall issue. She asked who the closest dealer was. Told her and to my shock- she called them to line up getting the bed step installed. He’d to go visit the dealer to get it ordered. Two days later I had my bed step. Cudos to ram care for handling this issue. I’ll bash em when deserved but they get 5 gold stars for this response.
If you are owed a bed step on the recall call the 800# earlier in this thread.
Be healthy and safe!!
