Detailed, man that took some time!

How long does it typically take you to detail, and how frequently? I just went through these steps over the weekend...
1) Wash (try out my new Sun Joe pressure washer toy and foam cannon)
2) Claybar using Meguiars detail spray
3) Polish with Chemical Guys Black Light Hybrid Radiant Finish Color Enhancer
4) Seal with Chemical Guys Jet Seal
5) Wax with Chemical Guys 50/50 Paste

Now I all did this by hand mind you, and I waited 12 hours after seal before wax. Next time I'll take more account of my time, but I suspect all said and done I probably had 10 - 12 hours broken up over 3 days invested in this whole process. Is it just because it's a big vehicle, or does that sound about right? How often do you detail to this extent?

I've never done a polish as I don't own a polisher, however it usually takes me about 3 hours to wash get the bugs and such off, wheels and tires, clay bar, wax with a liquid wax, and vacuum interior.

did mine 10 days ago, took 1 afternoon to do the interior, maybe 5 hours, and all next day to wash, clay, polish, seal, wax and do the rims. then it rained and i had to wash it again 2 days later because of the stupid tires. neg. offset was a bad idea for winter rims.

I haven't detailed it yet, but I imagine it would take the guy 3 hours or so

Looks awesome! I probably spent about 8 hours on mine but i just polished and waxed, no sealant. Dark colors are very high maintenance but i love the look!

That's probably on point even with a machine. You can't spend too much time detailing but you can spend too little. My 14 has swirls and marring in the black paint so I've got a chore ahead of me. I plan on waking up at 8am and not stopping til there's no more light. Unfortunately I don't have a garage to work in which will make it more grueling but the end result and instant gratification is quite the feeling.

Truck looks great by the way.

Staying dedicated to the upkeep of your truck, is key to it's longterm survival...Heres a pic of one of my duallys, the truck was 14 years old when this pic was taken, and had 160k mi...Never used any of those fancy polishes that were mentioned. Just Mothers Pure Carnuba every 3-4 weeks during it's life....Not too shabby for an EVERYDAY WORK TRUCK...

Thanks for the complements! I need to figure out how to attach larger pictures. I guess I could do this 5 step process every 6 months or so, and just a wash and 50/50 paste wax every month I expect should be good. I'll try to stick to that schedule anyway :happy107:
