So I have a 2013 single cab hemi. I bought 5 yr warranty but I was thinking of getting the diablo sport even though it will void it. But my question is, is it worth voiding the warranty?...performance wise?...I kinda drive the truck hard and race it a lot. I just don't want to get it and be like "wow, not much difference but voided warranty"...so any of you guys have opinions on if it is REALLY worth it?...HOW MUCH FASTER WILL THE TRUCK BE?

If you want to deal with all the potential problems, it's worth it. Search. There are many threads complaining about problems, and there are many threads praising it. When I first bought my truck, it was on my "want" list. I've since read of too many issues with any tuner: can't update, can't install, truck is dead, dealer denied warranty, MIL is on, etc, etc. I really lost interest, and decided I don't really need to get to 60 .5 seconds faster -- at least until my warranty has expired.

I never had any drivetrain issues, but my dealer never gave me any flack about mine. I just tuned it back to stock before I took it in each time.

I think real world numbers I've seen you only gain like 10hp from the canned tunes. The custom tunes by Sean are where you'll see more of a difference.

I have mine up for sale in the for sale section if you decide you want to buy one and want to save a little money buying used.

For what it's worth.

There's thousands of these tuners out there from DS.

How many threads are you going to see posting how great or well it's working?? Not many unless asked. The only time anyone posts about them is when they have an issue.

From Dumb & Dumber

"So your saying there's a chance"

Well... ya, there's a chance. Consider DS has been tuning Dodges across the board for a while. Ford, Chev, GM as well as others.

If you don't like it, or it's not worth it, most been able to sell them without any problems.

IMHO---you bought a 6,000 pound truck. How fast do you want it to go? They run pretty good stock, maybe with a few mod's they will run a little better, but it's still a 6,000 pound truck. You wanna go really fast---buy a Shelby or a Vette, but what do I know--I'm just old. I've got a few mod's, but not a tuner---just doesn't dollar out compared to the price of potential repairs(I won't lie to the dealer about having a tuner if I had one).

There's a whole list of stuff it can do and change. Is it worth it? To me it is.

Even without the performance aspect of the tunes. MDS, Limiter, Code reader, Tire/speedo cals, shift points etc.

Go to Matt @ Moe's or hemifever (Sean) for the tuner. Both include a custom hemifever tune with the cost of the tuner. DS dictates the MSRP of the tuners, so they all have to tow the DS line if they want any product. Or buy used and send Sean $125 for a custom tune for Your truck.

The performance has a lot to do with the person writing the tune. I have personally seen an improvement with the canned tune, but I've done a few mods. Once winter is over, I'll get the custom one done.

I really lost interest, and decided I don't really need to get to 60 .5 seconds faster -- at least until my warranty has expired.
Understandable. The only person that's going to know if it's right for you.... is you.

Ya... your just old...lol Fixed your quote :emotions36:

Biggest benefit was raising the limiter. Hwy cruise speed up here is about 80 mph on the 2 lane hwy's. Too many times I've bounced off the limiter trying to pass a "Super B Semi".

The tuners not for everyone. The OP was just asking.

I was the same way about the tuner and just sat on the idea for a while thinking which road I would take, I took the performance way and have had zero issues with an awesome drive. It really does come down to what you choose and if your going to be happy with that choice.

What was the better mod. TQ or DS Trinity?

If your asking me, both! The edge was a little more pricey than the tuner but showed about the same amount of performance gain. I would have to suggest HF because his tune is on point and was much more fun because of all the different parameters that could be changed. My truck is a 100% DD and if Matt/Moes is right the tune is better for the trans if your driving the truck properly. As for racing and running her hard everyday I would have to say that these mods would be very entertaining to you but would have to accept the consequences if it came to that.

Like I said before, sit on it for awhile and make that decision for yourself and be happy with what you decide. Definitely go through Moes if you want the tuner though because with a good shopping experience just makes the process that much greater!

P.S. You can get the converter through him to :)

Buy a new (upgraded) trans or sell the truck to someone willing to do the work!
Everyone knows you have to pay to play and that the trans is the weakest link in the chain.
Now the chances are that you wont blow the trans with just an intake exhaust and tuner but this is a risk you undertake when tuning.
Either you accept it and have the fun you want or content yourself with the stock tune and spend the rest of your life wondering "what would it be like if i had of stepped up to the plate and got a hemifever tune?"

Single cab is 4750 lbs! Just saying haha...and I think I will get it, my good friend works at a dealer in the shop and he told me how to tune it and erase the history on the computer where if I take the tune off they cannot trace that it has been flashed unless they really really really try hard too! And the chances of that happening are very slim!

Gear swap and running slightly smaller tires. Big performance boost.
