Difference between 2015 and 2018 model trucks - 6.7L

I am looking on the used market. I saw a thread here on the difference between 2015 and 2018 RAM 2500, Gasoline engines. https://www.ramforum.com/threads/difference-between-2015-and-2018-model-trucks.136233/


I am looking at 200k miles on a 2015 6.7 8' bed vs 2018 with 245k 6+' bed, about the same price $22K. I understand there are some electrical differences, after that not much sure and don't know the differences. There are some comfort features in the 2015 that are not in the 2018 being compared.

Here is a copy of the text from the Hemi 2015 vs 2018 RaM

"The 2018 and 19 have extra security in the electronics which will require you to by a bypass harness/adapter if you want to make certain changes with AlfaOBD or the Tazer."

I have no idea what this means, electronically
