Difficulty finding fender for megacab??

I've been looking on eBay at new fenders and I found one that says it fits my year truck except megacab. Why won't it fit? I'm ready to buy but once again, it being a megacab I'm getting the shaft..

Taken from the 2006 Ram Parts catalog, there only appears to be one part number for each left and right fender.

55276986AA 1 Right
55276987AA 1 Left

It shouldn't matter if it's 1500, 2500, 3500, mega, etc.

Like stated above I beleive the 3rd gen fenders will work from 02-05 an 06-09 no matter 1500 2500 etc

Based on your year truck you need one that fits an 06 - 08 truck.

There's no difference in a megacab fender vs. a 1500, 2500, Crewcab or quad cab that I ever saw. My 2007 MegaCab suspension was another story, having a 2500 frame, diffs and axles but 1500 springs.

That's the one I was going to buy but they were telling me it doesn't fit. Their part number matches yours except the B on the end which I don't know if that's a typo or not.

I found the same one through someone else and the part numbers match, and they said it shows regular/extended/and crew cab. I'd prefer to buy from the link above as their listing is slightly cheaper and the same part (according to #'s)

You're reading listings from goofy people that don't know how to "attribute" aka list the applications for...parts.

The reason some say (except mega cab) is because for MANY suspension parts, the 1500 is actually a 2500 series truck. soooo...the people from the data company, that ride their bicycles to work, Came up with a ram 1500 application that states (ram 1500...except the mega cabs) They are blindly posting this on fender as the "application" even though it doesnt matter because it's a body part.
you may even see...1500 (including mega cab) and 1500 (excluding mega cab) in the same listing.

2006-2008 ram 1500's are the same fenders. a 2009 2500/3500 remained the old body for one year longer, so if fits that too. Some vendors find the lesser of evils is to list LESS applications...than trying to explain to novice consumers the difference in a 2009 ram 1500 fender...and a 2009 2500 fender because its not worth the return shipping.

so the info in post #2 is correct. the last 2 numbers of a mopar PN are just revision codes. pretty irrelevant. i'd probably look at Sherman or LKQ before i got hammered at a chrysler dealership.

I'm definitely not going through the dealer. I can get the new one shipped to me for $111. I'm confused though, how was the bicycle part relevant in the previous post?

Most likely going to buy the eBay fender here in a few minutes

It was my polite way to say "nerds that don't even own / drive cars / trucks are the ones writing product data. like when you call summit racing and get some dork that drives a prius to work.....opposed to someone that lives and breathes the hobby

That's what I figured. I found it funny because at my old job I used to bike daily (cycling used to be a huge thing for me both recreational & amateur racing) to and from. I've been a vehicle person for years though. I'm just completely new to dodge's. I'm more knowledgeable with 82-93 s10's. [emoji28]
