yea I tried led's in my projector housing and they where dimmer than oem. I installed the HID kit from enlightauto.com and wow what a difference! Very bright so I used the led's for my high beams and fogs. The color between hid and led matches perfectly!

Please update us on the outcome. I am looking at installing these also. Thanks

I installed the DDM canbus HID last night. No pics yet, but I can say it was very easy! The kit consists of two bulbs prewired through rubber grommets and two ballasts pre wired with anti flicker and igniter. Each set plugs into each side without having to ground anything and you don't have to run power to the battery! I secured the ballasts to the frame that is exposed once you remove the housing for the lights on each side with size 14-3/4" metal tap screws. You'll need a 1" paddle bit to run the wires and secure the grommet on the dust cover. Clocking the bulbs in the 6 o'clock position was very easy too. You'll find the ground wire to the bulb is in the same position, so when you loosen the three screws to spin the bulb around just make sure the ground wire is at 6 o'clock and tighten back down. I found the fitment of the dust cover to be a bit tight on the HID wires coming out from the bulb for my liking, so I drilled another 1" hole on the dust cover and covered it with duct tape on both sides. This reduced pressure on the wires from the dust cover. I did this once before on another setup without any issues. I couldn't be more pleased with the setup!

Thank you for the great write-up! Now...just add pics. :)

Thanks, yes I read about loosening the 3 screws, rotating the bulb to 6 then tighten the screws. I will definitely do this at install as I’m getting tired of removing all this stuff lol

So whatcha think, 5500k or 6500k?

I don’t want this to warm up and resemble a halogen
You won't start warming up until you get down around 4300k - 4500k. I put 5000k LEDs in mine and they are as white as Archie Bunker. Not antiseptic, Operating room white. 6500k is and gonna start getting slightly blue. Not sure what you're trying to match but, what's more important, matching or seeing better? From what I've read many times, 4300k is ideal temp for "seeing".

Not 1st, 2nd or 3rd? No Trophy!

I was going to buy an HID kit but when I saw these were being developed for the projectors I decided to give them a try, I like LEDs and thought this was it.

I plan on getting the Morimoto 35w elite kit just need to decide on a kelvin to match the morimoto led fogs.....suggestions?
i have the same setup, hids and morimoto fogs, i got the 5500k and they match the fogs lerfect

I installed a Morimoto HID 35W 5500K kit today from TRS, everything plugged right in with no issues. I didn't drill the hole in the cover, just made a notch for the wires to fit thru and filled around with sealant. These are much better than the LED SL1 bulbs.

The last pic is the SL1

Well my Morimoto’s finally but the dust so I switched to the DDM 35W kit and they look just as great, very bright and 2-3 times brighter than the SL1 LEDs I had.

(I tried to take pics in the same spot as above for a direct comparison)
