I may add another amp for the door speakers and I'm trying not to have to run more wire if possible. Was wondering if my 4g power wire to a dist block at my mono amp would be ok if I came out of it with a short piece of 4g to same amp and 4g or 8g over to 4 way amp under pass. seat and grounded that amp there. Mono amp is an Alpine 600w and will get either an Alpine 4 way or Clarion Xc1410 budget amp

yes and no...

how much power are you running? thats is what really determines the size of cable needed.

Alpine PDX-M6 Mono sub amplifier — 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms at Crutchfield.com
this to 2 10" svc subs
and either this Alpine MRV-F300 4-channel car amplifier — 50 watts RMS x 4 at Crutchfield.com or this Clarion XC1410 Compact 4-channel car amplifier — 50 watts RMS x 4 at Crutchfield.com. if I got with the clarion I may try to tuck it behind the dash and run a dedicated line to battery. don't know if it will fit though

IMO i would stay away from that clarion as it has no adjustability on it. It works great for something like a motorcycle where you want small and just some power to make it louder.

Also keep in mind that if you have a cheap 4ga cable it may not be a true 4ga. the cable is measured by its OD. some of the cheap kits you get online if you look at the wire itself is about the same amount as a good 8ga.

Thanks for the head so on the clarion. I used a stinger wiring kit. I was leaning on the alpine.

I saw that chart the other day. I knew I had to run RCA wire I just didn't want to go thru the firewall again if I could help. Thanks for all the input.
