Anyone used a bedliner product on your door sills? I bought a quart of Herculiner to touch up a cple spots in the bed, tryin to think of ways to use it before it dries up. I wouldn't scuff the paint in this case, just clean it, masking tape the area, paint it on?
If anyone has done it, can you please post pics?

Why wouldn't you want to scuff the paint first? I would imagine it'd adhere better if you scuffed it up.

Mask the area you want to paint first, then scuff. As soon as you are done spraying the liner, remove the tape. I attached a pic of my bedliner that I did this to. Lines were crisp. 5c6d8ccc4e0c761860981d2949cb6030.jpg

Good point, cant go back anyway once its on there. Not sure i wanna go this route. A nice spray job would be cool, but i doubt rolling on Herculiner will look anywhere near as good

I like the ideas of these rocker panels that come up over the door sills, but be careful with this approach. I have read in other threads that the rocker panels will hold in dirt and moisture, potentially scratching and rusting out the actual panels you were trying to save.

If you don't scuff it up, it will chip off like crazy. I did the BL deal on my Jeep and even with a medium scuff, parts would chip off.

Thanks for the info. I dont think i have the balls to do it, not with DIY stuff anyway. Was lookin for ways to use what i had left. In Time paying a line x shop to do it might happen. I tried the clear 3m vinyl wrap, i couldn't get it tight enough, looked like ****

Herculiner is crap! :(
I've done many DIY Bedliners. This is stuff is garbage.

Even the stuff in the can will not hold up. You'll be hitting yourself for doing it.
Do a 2 part Bedliner like Raptor Liner.

I used Raptor liner 3.5 years ago. It has held up great. I highly recommend it. My truck was 3 weeks old.3d80db08d551a744e9fe9e24f67a6af9.jpg1b67b4cbd9eaf1b4047106cb241d4628.jpg26888fa6f618e1de12c8827e511c87a6.jpg

That looks damn good. I only used Herculiner to touch up 2 small knicks in the bed. Was the only thing i could find local. I only needed maybe an ounce. So, for now, im using the left over Herculiner to protect my work boot tips. Better than nothin

Maybe Herculiner is just an Aston, PA thing?

I guess its not that popular. It definitely doesn't look like a spray on. Hows it holding up on the chevy? My dog transport is my wifes CRV, i dont have leather, they aint gettin in my truck!

It’s holding up very well, I did the chrome bumpers too. No complants. I also used a lot of herculiner on a customers eagles bus to beer proof electronic cabinets and that’s working out great as well.

it wasn't difficult. It took me 6 hours from start to finish. Including cleaning up the mess. I was diligent with sanding the entire bed.

I used Herculiner in the bed of my 2000 Dakota. For a non-commercial vehicle, I abused that bed carrying rocks, dirt, furniture, etc, etc. After 17 years, it was still in great shape. I think it would work pretty good on the door sills.
