Anyone ever have a problem taking off the plastidip from the lug nut holes?

Thanks so much for posting this ! I just did my Ram wheels in gray and your post really helped. I took the wheels off and used the playing cards. The result of black truck with gray rims looks good.

I have 2 questions, I know this is an old thread.

1. Did you just pull the cards out when you were done? Did the plastidip come off of the rim when you pulled them?
2. Did you ever get the charcoal color? if so, where are the pics?

I may have to do this eventually. I'm just hesitant because I'm not convinced of its durability to normal use.

For those asking about the durability:

I've driven 10,000 miles since I put it on my rims on my Caliber R/T and it looks just as good as the day I applied it. I'm putting it on my Ram right now, a coat is drying as I'm typing this.

I put 5 coats on. First 3 coats were light, the last 2 coats were heavy.

I've power washed it, gone through automatic car washes, washed it with a scrub brush and it has held up perfectly.

Plasti Dip is awesome. It somehow combines great durability with the ability to easily remove.

awesome look ! you mentioned blacking out your badges , I saw a Ram where the guy used Black crome on the badges and it looks great on an otherwise black truck .

lol...This makes a lot more sence now. all ive been hearing for the last year or two is plasti dip this and plasti dip that. This is the first post Ive read on it where the words aresol follow the name plasti dip.

I have an old can of plasti dip here....use it for dipping plyer handels in, or covering the od wiring connection in a pinch. But its nothing like this stuff.

Still not for me though, I enjo what little chrome my sport has.

Great write up though. Interesting card trick.

Plasti dip is an addiction! Did my rims the other day (card trick worked great thanks for that tip).. Everything came out great just have a question for some of you guys who did your rims already.. Did you guys have to cut out where the lugs meet the rim? I had to razor blade it out so it wouldn't catch.. Just curious if there's another way or just tape em up?

I know it's an old post but thanks for the write up I know what my black sport will look like now as soon as it's warm enough..... How does plastidip hold up in the winter with salt? If nothing else it should protect the chrome from dulling in the salt. And does it hold up on the exhaust tips?
