I got a new ram with the rambox, and I wanted a secure gun-rack in the rambox. I went online to find the OEM rack, and they wanted something like $200 for a couple pieces of plastic. I went on amazon and picked up a Kolpin Double ATV gun rack for about $30. The width of this product exactly matches up to the rambox divider channels so that it provides some support side to side to minimize movement. I then simply screwed the rack in place through the plastic rambox using some silicone to prevent any water intrusion. Very stable and hold my rifles/shotguns just fine. Only issue I have is the rack closest to the rambox lock/latch mechanism has minimal clearance, so a scoped rifle in the outboard position is tough to negotiate without some adjustment of the rifle back and forth to clear. However, it fits fine in the inboard position with a large scope and leaves room for my shotgun on the outboard. All of that for under $40. Take that OEM!

wow, I don't have a RamBox but I'm thinking this would work pretty good in a tool box.... Great idea Bozhoz!

Great idea. I didn't want to pay the asking price from the dealer either.

Are there nuts on the bottom of those bolts or are just screwed into the plastic? Looks great by the way!

That's #winning.

I also would like to know if the bolts run through into the wheel wells... I imagine the screws would torque out if they're not run all the way through.

Very ingenious. I just selected a hard water/dust-proof gun case that fits in the Rambox to hold my rifle. The only negative is that its good for only one rifle, where as you guys can hold two with that mod.

I found this old thread and bought the same ATV mounts as the original poster. He’s right they fit perfectly into the cargo separator slots and have rubber feet on the sides that when pinched into the cargo slots provide lateral stability.

Rather than screw into the ram box base, I bought extra strength 10 pound utility Velcro and put half on the ram box and half on the base of the mount. I put the fabric side of the Velcro on the mount and the hard side on the ram box so that when the mount is removed the fabric doesn’t get destroyed.

I used the rubber straps that come with the mounts to secure the top of the firearms.

This securely holds the firearms and yet can be removed in less than a minute with no tools.

The mounts cost $60 (for two sets on each side) on amazon and less than $10 for the Velcro instead of $500 for two MOPAR sets.

Can you provide a link to the velcro? Curious if it's sturdy enough to trust holding a sighted rifle workout doubting the scope

I was also shocked to see the $249 price on Amazon for the racks. I have a set of those exact style racks on my Yamaha Kodiak. Going to order another set today for the driver's side box. Glad you guys posted about this mod. Saves $$$!

Is anyone talking about the 5'7" bed Rambox, or is it too short for a gun rack?

I got gun/fishing pole racks for ATVs and mounted in the RAMBOX. Less than $50 versus the dealership 300+
