True, it was OWM that failed originally. My truck has 130K on it. But I have heard bad reports of these E-bay knock offs and Enginetech.

I bought a full set from MMX for $900! So how can these e-bay sellers have Real OEM lifters for under $400. They Must be Chinese knock offs.

So I put OEM cam and lifters in and maybe I'll get another 130K out of it? Considering I drive under 10K per year, that is another 13 years - heck, I'll be 80! If I am still alive.

I also threw in the Melling Hellcat pump and will run 5W-30 oil.

If it didnt fire with starting fluid I bet your timing is off are you sure you lined the marks up on the chain to the gears its easy to do but things happen.

Oh, he figured out what the problem was.........

One of those tiny little things that happen in a moment of distraction, that bites you in the butt later, when you least expect it.

It happens to us all. I suspect he will have it up and running pretty quick.

check the last page of his other thread.

The E-Bay Lifters finally arrived late yesterday. It only took a week! So that is strike one against that seller.

Now the verdict. Unless Mopar made a design change these are definitely NOT real.

The most glaring observation is an oil hole in the NON MDS Lifter, and my factory originals did not have this whole. See the photo, my original is on the right. Also look at the slight body height difference. These were lined up on a straight edge for the photo.

Other observations:
- I measured slight dimensional differences using a veneer dial indicator. Body width, roller diameter are different to the original.

- They fit very tight into the lifter guide, where the real ones I got from MMX slid into the lifter guide easily.

- There are no numbers etched into the recessed part of the lifter like the real ones.

Having compared these to my originals there is no way in hell I would put these into an engine. I hope this information is valuable to those thinking about sourcing these from E-Bay.

Yes, real ones are very expensive, but so is destroying another camshaft and repairing a motor twice!Ebay_Lifters2.jpgEbay_Lifters1.jpg

Yep. I had to learn the hard way wish I had just spent the money up front. Bought a set of cheaper enginetech lifters from rockauto and immediately regretted it. Anymore for critical parts I go for name brand or oem. Something that takes 15 minutes to replace and is cheap I may take a chance.
