I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 4" lift, I drove through some water about 20" deep and the truck just shut off and died, truck still cranked over but wouldnt start. I pulled the air box tube it was fairly dry, the air filter was soaked, and the bottom of the air box was wet. I pulled the plugs and cranked it over no water came out, I cleaned all the plugs and reinstalled cranked but would not start. I pulled the plugs back out and poured a little bit of oil down in the cylinders and checked the distributor it was dry, and sprayed staring fluid in the intake It still cranks and cranks but wont start. I checked my coolant and oil there is no contamination so I dont think it is a headgasket. When you crank it it almost sounds like is has a timing issue, The distributor still spins so I dont t think its the timing chain. Anyone got any suggestions?
