Dodge Ram 2009 knocking

Hi it’s been a long while since I’ve been on and kinda of forgot how to really use this so I hope it goes through and hope I’m able to find a response….so I got rid of my old Dodge Ram and in the process of purchasing another used but good looking one but it has a knock on the bottom side of truck doesn’t sound like lifters just hoping it’s not a bad engine or piston rod or anything of that nature considering it’s only has 152k miles wandering if anyone has ever had that problem and maybe it could be a knock sensor or flywheel rubbing on cover or something least significant lol. Just throwing that out there never know if someone has had the same problem

Could be any number of things. Without more info it's impossible to diagnose to get an idea of the cost to fix, and if it's "worth" fixing depends what they are trying to sell it for.

Usually If it sounds like a ball peen hammer tapping your oil pan it’s gonna be rod bearings or some major engine component. Posts video to YouTube and link the video on here so we can hear the sound.

Check all the pulleys and accessories to rule out those things.

Check the oil and wipe it on a clean paper towel and look for glitter looking metal flakes.

Why buy a truck that knocks, that is a psychological question. You think it is a "good looking one". Any truck that I am purchasing I can tell you I'd rather have an ugly rust bucket then a great looking truck with a knock.
