Does anyone know what the accessory purpose of this area is supposed to be?

I haven't seen any pictures of this area used by an accessory. Anyone know?

Since we're on to "what do I keep in it", I keep a mandrill in mine.

Does anyone know if there's a plug back behind the plate for the inverter, if you swap from the blank plate to the 120v inverter plug?

I picked one up from a fellow member and don't want to pull apart the dash if I need to get a harness for the plug.

If it did not come factory with the inverter option, there is no plug or dead harness to plug into. The few people I have seen retrofit a factory inverter, had to buy the harnesses involved to get it done. There is a thread out there with a little searching on what is involved and the parts needed. It is a lot of work for what is basically a weak inverter system to begin with.

That’s the cubby for whatever reason my wife ends up sticking her debit card in. Then she can never find it and needs it when I’m out of town :idiot:

My 2012 Laramie doesn't have that little cubby hole - I have the power plug, which is awesome as I can plug in my turbo charger for my cell phone.

I do have one cubby hole on the far end of the dash on the passenger's side, located below the air vent. My husband puts his keys in that one.

As for the upper "Dodge" tray above the center dash console.. that's where my co-pilot's yummies are kept. :)

In my truck it's usually where my grand daughter sticks her My Little Pony toy... So I guess it could be considered a stable stall... :)

Love the Stable there.
Tell her that and let her know it is just for her, she will love ya forever,

Thanks all! It has a rather thick rubber piece in the bottom of it. When you pry it up theres nothing under it. The mystery space. Only the designer knows for sure...

Has anybody found a use for it? besides dust catcher... LOL

Upon further research I found this:

Looks like it was originally the 115v outlet.

Then the outlet was moved in 14 and it went back to being a cubby.
