I'm thinking that RAM has enough parts to build a new one about every minute, but they don't have the part you need to get your truck back on the road again.

Hmmmmm...........
There's more to it than that....

They may have enough parts to keep production going but that doesn't mean that repair parts are available yet. This is still a really new model and it's likely that the supply chain hasn't stocked up well enough to handle repairs. It typically takes some time for them to build up failure reports to identify the parts they need to keep in stock for repairs. If whatever failed isn't common, then they would have to get it from the supplier. That may take time as well.

It's not a great answer, but it's an honest answer on how manufacturing works.

I had a new 2019 Ram 1500 and the screen would go out then come back on 3 mo later. Took it to dealer and they replaced screen and unit behind it and it still would go out

I want everyone to know I bought a brand new 2025 1500 Laramie crew cab- Bought brand new from Punta Gorda dealership- I barely had the truck for a week- drove it to fort myers to get the spray for the bed liner, then back to punta gorda for window tinting and the whole dash was black (not turning on) this was at the dealership when I went to pick up my truck- since April many weeks later - still do not have the truck fixed anf they do not know when they will get the part in. Contacted dodge ram they will not help! I asked for a full refund seeing that I have not driven it besides the two places and they will not help at all! Please save yourself the trouble - Don't buy a RAM!!!!!

and i can go to any other truck forum and find similar complaints about them. Sorry you had a bad experience with your truck.

I bought a new 2020 1500 Limited and in 5 years NEVER had a single problem. So, i tell people Ram trucks are great.

These kinds of posts always baffle me. Everyone knows that people only go out of their way if they have a complaint, so when you see some kind of problem in a forum it's pretty rare that it's endemic to all vehicles or a known problem. There are exceptions, and you can usually tell by the critical mass of posts regarding a specific problem. When I first got my Titan, within a year there started to be a lot of posts about seepage at the rear axle. The rear axle seals ended up being a known issue to the truck. But there were hundreds, maybe thousands of posts about the issue. I don't recall seeing too many "dash dead" posts. I'm not saying the guy doesn't have a problem with his dash, but I just don't see how posts like these have any effect on anything.

I guess he could just be venting and I wouldn't be too happy with a dead truck with 11 miles either. But I probably wouldn't come here telling everyone not to buy a Ram, but rather just try to see if it's a common problem or not by asking around. For whatever it's worth, my Ram (2019 Bighorn) has been great.

I live by a rule when it comes to vehicle purchases. And this is through my own experience. NEVER buy a first year anything. You'll get hosed if there are large scale problems because the manufacturer doesn't want to fix all the broken vehicles, they'll fix the problem in the next model year. Ford is really bad about doing this. But why risk it.

I am glad you haven't had any issues!! Truly I am! I just can't believe I bought a brand new truck 11 miles - and don't have it for about a month now - and having to make payments while it sits at the dealership - it just isn't okay what they are doing! I don't have a truck I paid for - its like they took my money and don't care that it is defective and won't give me a date when they can order the part just so much UGH!

Sorry fer yer issues but it happens. U could have a Big Chevy with motors blowing up in 4 miles. Ford with trans that shifts from 10 gear to 1st gear at highway speed. It is across the spectrum.

I bought a 1st year build my 19 and I jumped through hoops for a while. It definitely sucks but if the part needed is so new and not available You either wait or go lawyer route if U think U have a valid case.

RAM pulled the entire dashboard and HVAC on mine to address bad parts put in for AC. It still isn’t where it should be. But alas life suks nothing new.

OP U just gotta decide: Wait or jump ship. But I advise U not to make enemy of Dealership cause if U stay and problem fixed they may Neva be in a hurry to help U, human nature.

Good luck on finding a resolution.

and your definition of fine and dandy? If I had a new ram with mis fire codes and "hiccups" I might have a different definition, with respect.
Geez man the hiccups were the FALSE misfire codes. WOW!!! Twice just I stated before!! They fixed it in the matter of 20 minutes each time and my truck runs like a new truck should. Everything works and operates like it was designed for. I have zero complaints!!!
Up above is why I hate putting anything down!!
Fine and Dandy, Right as Rain, like it should, runs perfectly, OK, Fit as a Fiddle or any number of other ways!!
Truck is just fine!

I have never known personally any dealer that has turned away a person that has been without a truck longer than having it. To me the whole thing sounds fishy when folks get on here or any other forum and say the dealer this or that! They are not in the business to have a bad reputation. The dealer that I deal with is not having a lot of trucks come back for anything. Little things here and there but nothing major. So I and or this dealer just must be awfully lucky and they get good trucks that are in good shape! HA!!! :)

25 Ram 1500 LoneStar Edition CrewCab 4x4 with the Night and Bighorn packages. Alpine stereo and large screen. SST!!!! :)

You got a good one, then. There's plenty of scummy dealers out there.

My son's been without his truck for a month minus a few days for something as simple as the radiator leaking and the stereo head unit needing swapped (just the old base model with a CD player, not one of the new fangled ones). It wasn't fixed right the first time he went to pick it up, after over two weeks of not getting touched. I would have just swapped the radiator myself and replaced the radio with an aftermarket, but it's got the lifetime warranty and he can drive my wife's car to work (she put less than a 100 miles a year on it the past two years...) so let them deal with it.

This happens, not often, but when it happens to you, it is a big deal. It happened to me once, but I did this: I contacted a Lemon Law attorney. Six weeks later, I was sitting in a brand-new, trouble-free vehicle.

You have made several posts, but not one of them suggests you have taken a step towards a legal resolution. Why?

I'll help, start here.

I hope they are at least providing you a loaner to drive - one equivalent to what you are paying for.

Dealers are private companies that sell a product for a manufacturer. They are the automotive version of Wal-Mart. They don't make anything they sell.

Instead, they have a contract with a manufacturer to sell said brands, and to act as the warranty repair arm for the manufacturer. They can't make a single repair until the manufacturer approves the repair and sends them the parts.

What did they say is causing the delay? Are they waiting on a case manager to approve the repair? Are they waiting on the manufacturer to ship them a part? Are they troubleshooting with a manufacturing engineer to help them figure it out? Are they waiting on the manufacturer to send an engineer on-site to troubleshoot?

There are a lot of variables that "might" be causing the delay that "might" be out of the dealer's control. Or maybe it's a bad dealer. We don't know based on what you've said.

Now... in terms of a loaner..... when you completed your finance paperwork, did you ask about a loaner vehicle in the event that it's in for repairs? Did you verify that it was part of your sales contract and/or that it was specifically called out in your warranty?

The whole situation sucks and I feel for you, but I think you do have to figure out where the root of the problem lies and then address that.

You say @RamCares won't help. Is it that they said that to you in a private message or that they haven't had a chance to message you yet? I have seen them reach out to people over the years and have read some good stories, give them a chance. I know exactly how you feel, my first brand new Ram fell off the dealer lift the second day I owned it, I have typed about it in here if you are interested, just search. Can't imagine how much anger I had as the time went by before all solved. But being civil to the end kept things better.

Meanwhile, has the dealership diagnosed your issue yet? Maybe I missed that in here, but it would be helpful to know what that diagnosis is, what part(s) to fix the issue are required, and if any parts are ordered and if backordered. If they haven't, or are still having problems figuring it out have you spoken with the service manager first and then with the general manager? What have they said specifically.

One option is to have the truck towed somewhere else, but if issue is backordered parts that won't help. You can also reach out to Ram at 800-399-2668.

i completely do understand where you're coming from. Do you know exactly what part is so hard to get? Maybe calling other dealer parts counters and just ask if they can order that part ? You never know....one of them might just say "yea. i can have it here in two days"

Lemon law only comes into play if it's happened three times or more, I used it once and got a new vehicle. But, being butthurt and bashing RAM is just stupid, no vehicle is perfect so just deal with the situation.

unfortunately, it appears that electronics will be our undoing. My partner had a 2020 Ram 1500 Limited. Decided to trade it for a 2025 Limited. A few months later... transmission problems... which appeared to be mostly electronic in nature. He no longer trusted it on a long drive, & traded it for a '25 Rebel X. A few days after ownership... more electronic problems (braking, this time). While it is hopefully more the exception than the rule, it is troubling nonetheless. Since every new vehicle is so heavily laden with electronics, it will likely be an ongoing thing. It makes me very hesitant to purchase new... and more likely to simply hang onto my '16 2500 Tradesman.

exactly - almost a month I don't have it and sitting at the dealership @RamCares wont help and dealership can't order the part - meanwhile they want me to continue making the monthly payment and I don't have the new truck I paid for seriously What the heck! - tried being nice and they are not helping - I am not going to be nice anymore! I need to let everyone know what is happening and hopefully this doesn't happen to someone else! -
Why don’t you look up ALL the review areas for this dealership and instead of making it about a great truck make it about a crappy dealership. I’ve got a 2015 RAM 3500 that I’ve NEVER had trouble with and just put a new condenser in it. You’re making it about sour grapes when it’s actually the middle man.

I'd like to know when you talk to your dealership do you talk to them with the tone and fire you post on here with? The tone in your posts are fire, anger, aggression, etc. I think you get my point.

There have been some really good points made in this thread so far and I think it you had a different tone with the dealership they might have a different opinion and want to do something for you. I work in the power industry as a OEM for systems that go into power plants. There are times to be aggressive and there are times to be civil. If you have a reputation of being "that guy" at the dealership, most people don't like to deal with "that guy" and do whatever they can to avoid you and or get you to leave. The service department could also be run by a "that guy" and in my experience two "that guy" type people doesn't work and nothing ever gets done.
