Has anyone wrapped the inserts in the door in a different material? Looking at doing something custom inside

I did. It’s simple really. Door panels pop off then you can access the panels from the back. Grind the welded plastic tabs off that hold the insert in place. Rewrap and then when you put it all back together I used small self tapping screws to hold the insert in place by screwing them into the existing plastic tab areas.

I used the 3M spray adhesive. Works amazingly well when both surfaces are tacky. You can leave the factory Leather/vinyl and just cover it or you can remove it and start fresh. I just left the factory and covered it and it’s nice and snug and has a nice cushion feel to it.
