Door sensor

Hey guys. I'm trying to add LED strips under my doors (puddle lights) and trying to find the door sensor that turns on the dome lights. I used to just remove the bulbs and direct tap but now there is no bulbs under the door cards. Any help greatly appreciated. 21 classic

There is a switch in the door latch that turn the dome lights on. If I'm not mistaken it grounds the wire but that goes back to the BCM.

Yeah I do, looks like I'm in for some fun running wires to all 4 doors and two external for under step lights. Thanks man.

Make sure you post some pictures on the wiring... I was thinking of adding entry light LED strips as well ...

You could try to wire into any of the interior courtesy light locations. My 17 Laramie has plugs under each of the rear seats that control the foot lights under each seat bottom...that's where I tapped my outside puddle lights under my doors that I installed. came up through the bottom of the rear floor bins and sealed everything up...3 years and no issues.

There are alot of places inside that have LEDs that come on when the doors open or the doors are unlocked with remote

Ended up going with a tap on my front footwells on both sides for under seta and puddle lights. Much easier than trying to figure out on the door. Found a better place than going through the bins, so under the trim that runs from the seat down to footwell there is a white cap that hold it in place. I ran wires through that and sealed with silicone (last pic)
