I got some Rockford Fosgate 6x9s for my doors. Installed them earlier and they have a high pitched static noise coming from them. I tried switching the wires... but static both ways. What is the problem here? They are the Rockford Fosgate Punch's

Did you cut the harness off to wire these or buy harness adapters?

If that doesn't fix it, try hooking up one of your old speakers and see if it's still there. You could've gotten a bad set

Alright I will do that for sure. I notice the static noise more so when I turn the bass up, since I have the Infinity, I can control the bass on the head unit... would it be that I have too much power going to the speakers, or not enough power from the head unit?

is the metal basket of the speaker touching the metal of the door grounding out?

Ok so I tried hookin up some Pioneer 6x9s and they have static too, but the factory Infinity speakers don't. Only difference I'm finding is the Pioneers and Rockford Fosgates are 4ohm and I'm wondering if the infinitys are only a 2ohm.... therefore I don't think my stock radio has enough power for the aftermarket speakers. Would that make sense?
