Drive dial auto shifter

Don’t know if anyone know this but, if you shut the truck off without putting it in park, the drive dial automatically turns itself into the park position. Pretty cool to see.

Oh yeah, after that one guy ran over himself with his jeep I think FCA had to be all over that, do the new 5th gens also set a parking brake automatically?

Joe if you open the door or try to leave it in nuetral with no one in the drivers seat it throws the parking brake on from what I’ve seen. I’ll need to look but I think there is also a setting for the parking brake in the Uconnect menu for auto on/off.

Thanks for the info! I set my parking brake just about every time I park my truck and have been using that procedure of setting it first before shifting into park, but I was curious if they had something like the auto parking brake featured described above. It's a cool idea, just another problem down the road? I'm curious to see how that function holds up over time but I like the idea.

Yes you can.

It is not set to do that by default but you can go into settings and have the parking brake automatically engage when you select PARK.
