If DEQ software is anything similar to the 88r you will want a full screen like 14"-15".

Get Facebook lol

I had it for a month and it was horrible... 2 ex wives and all the former "friends" and drama. No thanks.

If I could figure out how to go on there incognito, then I would consider, but that seems kinda creepy... lol

I lock mine down pretty tight so I think all you can do is search my name if you aren't a friend and thats it. I don't add people I don't know and actually slowly taking down all my photos and stuff on there that strangers don't need to see.

Similar but a little more nicer, refined if you will. For example purposes, I am running it on a 13" Mac screen and it is nice. And Mac! DSP software that actually runs on a Mac! Nice!

And in case anyone was wondering and are also running a Mac, REW is also available for Mac as well.

Thats awesome I still like my PC but it defiently gives me warm fuzzies to hear it works on a MAC since thats all my wife uses and is my backup.

I just caught this over at DIYMA. A dell tablet running Windows 8.1 for $150. Could make for a nice dedicated tuning device for anyone interested.

Dell Venue 8 Pro Windows 8 Tablet | Dell

Cool! Kinda funny, Brad just posted that somewhere too(I think). :)

The 8" is kinda small (that's what she said), will it be sufficient to run it?? I was thinking 10.1" (that's what she said)...

I think it just depends on the person. I'm getting old so I like a 13". Anything less could be a little counter-productive for me.

Tuning DSP

When you guys tune with REW, what volume levels are you using from your head unit and does it matter?

After I install the DSP, I will have to reset my gains with a DMM but as long as I am not clipping I would think the volume would not matter much when I am trying to achieve the desired response? Thoughts?

I did a normal to high listening volume, with that I knew exactly what volume my HU, DSP, and amps started to clip so as long as was below that and tuning down you should be just fine. Should say I like loud dynamic music.

Me too, I like my **** pretty loud. I tune with the head unit volume where it would be if I were cruising around.

Be very careful in trying to raise dips. Peaks are no issues, you can lower those and not worry about clipping. However, if you have dips, let's say in the 1khz range, you don't want to raise it to the point of clipping. I usually go no more than 3db max.

Something else to remember, when you're tuning is that if you try adjusting a frequency and you see no real movement in the RTA that means something else is going on. Could be issues with phase/cancellation. Sometimes you may have dips and peaks due to the vehicle characteristics. Not much can be done unless you're willing to play around with locations and crossover points.

I've found that keeping the tweeters and midrange close together works very well in a 3-way setup. However 3-way is much more difficult to tune vs 2-way in my experience.

All this reading makes me start to think I need a pro to tune my system, the first time around...
