looking to replace the tires on my tires on my 2012 ram crew. I am torn between the duratracs or the new BFG KO 2. The size will be 275 65r20. I have had three sets of the old BFG ko on other trucks and was happy with them except in deep snow. According to BFG info the new one are supposed to perform better in snow. Opinions?

I liked my DuraTracs but the tread life was horrible for me.

Duratracs all the way, ive never had good luck with any bfg's

Never had duratracs but Ive had several sets of bfgs on my pickups and wrangler and had nothing but good experiences. The tires always outlasted my ownership of the vehicles and were great in snow.

Just curious what trouble you ran into with them?

I've had 2 sets of BFG's and now I've got 2 sets of Duratracs. Can't say anything bad about either brand. I went with the Duratracs this time around because I liked the tread pattern better and just simply wanted to try something different. Great traction in the snow so far.

Duratracs are winter rated and are just freakin awesome in deep snow and frame deep mud. Dig like a Swamper TSL. I run a 33x12.5 and have had two sets. Love them. BFG's although are good, I've never had a set I liked and I've had three sets.

At ko's bad winter performance, less then desiresble mud traction, a few stupid flats, km2's were good offroad but horrible in winter, rugged trail or rugged terrains whatever they are were just horrible period no good anywhere but pavement, had probably 6 plugs in them in 10 months, in that 10 months they were also extremely weather cracked

I'm in the same situation right now. Thinking I'm going to get some 275/65/20s on my 14' 1500 Quad 4x4. Just hoping there's no rubbing as I don't have any level yet!

well made the decision. Based on reviews, personal experience, and price I went with the BFG's. They get installed next Friday, thanks for all the help.

I went with Toyo's Open Country C/T on 18" rims(winter rated), had the Toyo AT2 Extremes on 17" rims and they were awesome in all conditions. Would have went with the Goodyear Duratracs but the lower price of the Toyo's got me. When it comes to snow and ice the BFG's have very little sipping.. so I would not pic them at all.

I saw the new KO2 and Duratrac side by side over the weekend. Both look like they will do wonders in the snow (again, KO2 not KO). I ran KOs on an older truck I had and loved them. Worked great in all weather conditions. However, this time around, I opted for Duratracs simply because the overall look of the tire was more appeasing to my eye.

I'm sure those opting for the KO2 will find it very satisfying in the conditions for which it was designed.

Yeah sounds like you got some bad tires or something. Ive had the exact opposite experience with the old ko's on 4 trucks, other than performance in mud but I dont expect a mud tire out of an all-terrain. I literally cant wait for snow this year to test out my new ko2's.

I really like my duratracs, the ko2s are a good tire but i felt a noticeable difference in traction being that the duratracs gripped better. I can't compare tread life though because I did a lot of burn outs with my ko2s verse none on the duratracs

I've had the ko2's on my 2014 ram 1500 sport CC for about 4,000 miles and so far have really liked them but I can only compare them to the horrendous Wrangler SR-A's I had on it before from the factory. Today was the first day I got to try them out on the snow and they performed much better then the SR-A's. ABS only came on when I slammed on the brakes where the SR-A's would lock up if you even looked at the pedal. The ko2's are also very quite, not much road noise over the SR-A's.
