Hello everyone and thanks in advance as this is my first post but have been on the site for sometime now.

I would like to know when your rear axle seals leak causing the oil to get on the E-brake shoes should they not be replaced instead of cleaning them up and reinstalling?

The reason I'm asking is I had my 14' Ram 2500 in for warranty replacement of the rear axle seal as it was split .The dealer siad they just cleaned the brake shoes and reinstalled.

I was under the impression that soiled brake shoes or pads need to be replaced.

Given it's just the P-brake shoes, if the p-brake holds tight, I'd personally call them good. If it got on the regular pads for the rear, I'd want to change them.
