I'm considering enhancing the exhaust sound of my '11 Sport QC, 5.7 hemi . I'd like it to sound just a bit louder, a little more menacing. What are some inexpensive, simple solutions? Thanks!

I always recommend swapping out your stock muffler for a Borla Pro XS. Great sounding muffler with just enough volume to know it's not stock....and there is no drone.

The easiest, simplest and cheapest method would be to just cut out your muffler and weld in some pipe. Leave on the resonators. It would make the truck significantly louder but would be a little more primitive of a sound quality. I had a MagnaFlow catback on my 1500 and it sounded very nice, but not cheap.

Do a muffler swap. Mufflex or Magnaflow sound good. Flowmaster is louder but a bit raspy to my ears.

Borla is another good choice, IMHO.

Gibson mwa, you should be able to find bm0109 for 70-80 bucks and then another 70 to weld in, or glasspacks

Muffler swap is the cheapest for sure. I also did the Magnaflow catback myself, I like it a lot. Pypes makes a decently priced muffler that sounds fantastic on these trucks, check that option out if you do just the swap.

Carven progressive (milder) / competitor (louder) and the mufflex (magnaflow mufflers - larger the number the milder the volume) are simple bolt on solutions. I believe the flowmaster outlaw has a bolt on application as well.

Otherwise weld-in mufflers by Borla (pro xs sounds good my brother in law has one on his ‘12 ram hemi; or xr1 are good choices ) or anyone can be done

A lot of people do a muffler swap as stock pipe from y to muffler is sufficient.

Mufflex and Carven offer 5” tips that deepen the tone of the exhaust as well.

X2. Just had one installed yesterday and I love it. Nice rumble under load and pretty quite while cruising.

The first one is for better sound, the second one has to be special ordered for a RAM, but it spreads the sound around a bit. You can combine both of these.

Also recommend Mufflex since they sell the muffler and exact amount of piping required, as a kit, to just clamp it in place of your factory muffler. To ensure you have no drone but make it a little louder, I would recommend the 24" muffler kit.

I have the carven progressive on my 17 CC and I love the sound. Not to loud and sounds amazing when you smash the gas pedal.

Thanks all! I'll call around to some muffler shops and ask about these recommendations. A low rumble at idle, without a drone while cruising is what I'm looking for. And a definite "announcement " at launch!
