1.5" primaries...

If it was me, I'd just get some coated Pacesetters for $377 and use that extra hundred bucks saved from those Maximizer headers that'll choke the engine and use it at the muffler shop and have the rest of the exhaust connected.

The primaries look good. Hard to find 1.5" primaries on headers - smaller is better on trucks to keep a strong low end.

Low end is what I want. I don't do a lot of WOT, just some city street light racing lol. Budget is always key, and if I can save some dough but still get a quality product, why not?

Low end power is fine. But when you start losing power because you are choking the engine from idle to WOT, you are going backwards. Knock off .065" or so for tube wall thickness and your actual I.D. is going to be around 1.370". You should have a 1.55" exhaust valve size. What do exhaust gasses do? They expand. You don't want a header with a smaller diameter than your exhaust valve.

But then again, what do I know. My last motor only made 670 on motor and 965 on the bottle with just 477 CI.

I'll have to agree with cordog, get coated pacesetters, not the y pipe tho if I had to do,it again(one day I will lol) I'd have a shop do the rest from the header to muffler.

Good enough for me! lol. I know very little about exhaust so that's why I come to you guys. Anyone happen to know the best place for the coated pacesetters? It's called Armor coat right? Found one website that lists them for $378 with free shipping.
