Congrats on the new truck.

I would appreciate you keeping us posted on your thoughts, particularly since you came off a Hemi so you will be able to compare/contrast both.

Let us know how the MPG goes, some others have been saying its great between 50MPH and 60MPH, but then drops significantly above 60mph.

A friend of mine in the performance auto business who loves the untapped potential of these motors said he expects Chrysler to come out with reprogramming for the ECM to eliminate the turbo lag, so you may want to keep your eye on potential updates if that bothers you.

These are big purchases, sincerely hope its all you want/need it to be!

Collin, You obviously haven't driven this truck to assume it drives like a mini van. You are just speculating on other's speculation. Go drive one. This truck is not slow. The torque ranges are different in a gas and diesel engine and do take some getting used to. This argument has and will be played over and over again. It's right for some and not for others.
As for the resale, it promises to be significantly higher. example 2008.5 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the V6 diesel.

I'm going to test drive one when the time comes to buy a new truck--soon, but not that soon. It'll be cool to drive a truck that you could push to mileage equal to regular cars. I want to see the $50k truck that has 230 horsepower in the hopes of breaking even on gas in 10 years

On paper it just doesn't add up to fun.

It depends on what you want out of your truck, if you want raw power and speed perhaps you should look toward a performance oriented vehicle instead of a 6000 lb truck. The power of the hemi is awsome but the fuel economy flat out sucks. The only way it would take 10 years to breakeven is if you drive 5000 miles per year. If you are really craving that 395 hp your not getting good mileage anyways.
