As far as I know this engine does not have an Eco/Comfort/Sport mode, but at the top of my dash display it says "ECO". What does that mean?

It just tells you that you are driving at maximum fuel economy. If you don't want to see the eco indicator you can turn it off in your settings menu.

Hit the gas hard and the indication will disappear! If you leave your display on the fuel economy screen it will go along with the MPG sliding bar on the display. The higher the bar, the eco will be on as well. It will make more sense when you get familiar with it.

I love hyper-mileing my truck. I've never had a truck that got up to 27.9mpg ever. My 82 ford f100 with the 300ci six got the closest at about 20. My 1990 454SS got 10/ll and it really did, my 98 Ram1500 gets up to 16 usually around 15 or so, so this truck sips gas like a vokswagon bug. When gas is back to $4 gal you'll be glad if your only vehicle is a v-6 and you ain't got that hemi. LOL

Does it still go into eco mode and just shut the notification off or does it stop eco mode completely?
No it doesn't shut the ECO mode off. It just turns of the notification in EVIC.

I don’t care what gas costs I’ll have my hemi over a v6 any day I always get 93 since it’s only a few cents more anyway

There is no actual “eco-mode”, the eco light just shows the engine is operating at a high level of efficiency. If you turn the light off, efficiency doesn’t change.

If you want to turn off eco mode, just press the tow/haul button. LOL.

Dad has a '18 BigHorn with the Pentastar V6 and gets mid 20s around town. Truck has V8 low end grunt and shifts like buttered butter with the ZF 8 speed. Dang I'm jealous.

The Pentastar with the ZF 8-speed is a great power train. Great mileage, super easy to change the oil and filter, six spark plugs instead of 16. People that dismiss this V6 haven't driven one IMO. That said, if you have heavy duty towing needs, or just have a psychological need to have that Hemi badge on the side of the fender, you're going to want to get a V8. But for everyday use, and folks that are well-adjusted mentally, I think the V6 is the best way to go

Not sure about your trucks, but my 2020 Ram's "ECO" mode is the indication that the MDS system has been activated. This is also noticeable by listening to the exhaust (well, easier for me since I have an FX muffler from Flowmaster). And, from what I've researched so far....you can't turn off that mode. Only by turning on the TOW/HAUL feature....or putting the transmission in 8th gear manually....can you keep it from engaging the MDS.
