I bought a used 2015 Ram 1500 Larimie and I seem to be having an electrical issue. My front park assist sensors will not work, "service sensors" comes up on my dash and I do not have power to the front drivers side fog light, I replaced the bulb but there's no power to the unit. Passenger side fog works fine? I had a dealer look at the truck and they told me I needed a new electrical module?? and told me it would be $950.00 to fix. They would not give me a part # for the module. Are the two issues part of the same electrical module? Does anybody know how to go about diagnosing these problems? Let me know any thoughts. Thanks

I think the only place the two of those are common is at the TIPM module. $950 sounds about right to replace that. There is a separate park sense module as well but it the issue is coming from one location pretty sure it's going to be the TIPM.

The fogs are controlled by the BCM and the park sensors are controlled by the park sense module. The only relationship they share is they are both on the can c bus. Replacing one of the modules will not correct both situations. For the service park sensors, for me, it’s usually a spec of dirt lodged between the sensor and the trim ring bezel putting pressure on the sensor. It’s a very finicky system, especially the front sensors. I just wash them and run a toothpick around the bezels and that takes care of it. For the fog light, they need to rule out a bad left fog lamp driver wire first, starting where it originates at pin 1 on the C1/A connector on the bcm.

That could be the reason the first owner sold it. This generation of Ram 1500's is know for electronic issues. The problem seems to start with the TIPM and can escalate from there. Hopefully they can take care of yours.

Try looking at a junkyard for one maybe 100 bucks and they even have a video on you tube on changing one its not hard to do. I picked one up as a spare from a friend who works at a junkyard its on the shelf if needed. But the most important thing is you must get your year 2015 because they only used it for the one year that type of CANBUS system. Very Important. Good Luck

When you say pick one up at the junkyard, what are you referring to? Park sense module? BCM?

I was saying the whole TIPM box the box that looks like a old style fuse box you can replace that box it runs all electrical operations on the vehicle. Also maybe open the cover to it and push down every fuse and relay in the box sometimes they work their way up and make a ****** contact.

2013+ rams don’t use a TIPM. When people (erroneously) refer to the “TIPM” on a 2013+ truck, it would be the BCM. On pre-2013s the TIPM was a fuse box and a control module combined as one unit. On 2013+ trucks, the fuse box is called the Power Distribution Center, and only houses the fuses and non-replaceable relays. Then, power is distributed to the BCM behind the brake pedal, which controls all body functions. A used BCM would have to be programmed by either loading the vehicles VIN configuration onto it via WiTech, or everything must be manually configured using other software for the exact options of the new truck it’s being installed on.
