Searched but couldn't find a thread that covers this.

Anyone else here use there personal truck in work situations where added emergency lighting or strobe lights are needed?
I do so I'm in the process this week of adding strobes to my truck.
Would love to see some pictures of other RAMS that have added exterior emergency lighting for safety.

Going to follow.

When I was younger the volunteer fire department had officers who decked out personals.

I do modest amount of equipment trailering to couple bad places. I'm thinking of installing a couple. Little extra CYA.

If I was in a profession such as construction I would have too much in it ha. Safety and cool factor. There are some nice light setups and patterns out there.

Glad to hear other personal RAMS out there doing strobes. I'm finishing up the final touches on my wires this morning, I'll get some video up soon. I did two lights in front and back, (6TIR) each. Used Superbrightleds.com and so far so good. All the wiring myself on a relay. I work for a utility company and get called out often in personal truck first to check the validity of an issue before the crew gets dispatched on call/OT. Strobes are helpful out here, we have mostly curvy, dark country roads with zero street lights.

Since I retired from the USAF/R, I joined the Patriot Guard. I have added 3 light bars (roof, dash light and rear window) and four flashing lights in the grill. It helps with the funeral processions and visibility. Plus I have added LED work lights to the rear bumper.

Any pics? Would like to see.

For those that want flashing lights on their truck but don't want to install anything permanent, you can use Tazer or SpeedTurtle to flash the factory lights.

I've seen those online and it's tempting...read a few reviews in regards to glitches causing havoc on the vehicle electronics... Anyone on here have Tazer or Speedturtle? I wouldn't mind hearing a review...

In my business i have to run LIGHTS
They can't be Red or Blue, so we run Amber lights.

When i started in the business, 14 years ago, in some States there were rules against LED lights in the Pilot Car business.
More recently they allow LEDs

I still run the rotating lights that i started with.
Many Pilot Cars have changed over to the LED light bars

My Ram looks like this
046af.jpg

There is an issue with my lights, when we are running at night, the truck driver that is either in front or in back of me, can be blinded when the light beam strikes his mirror or hits his eyes if he is behind me, so i have to use a strip of blue painters tape on the amber lens to keep the light beam from hitting his eyes or the mirror directly.

If the pilot car has a LED light bar, they don't have to worry about that.

I have speed turtle on my 2018 2500. I needed a security bypass thing I got on this forum as well. (didn't use the speed turtle one).
works great, no lights to install, truck looks stock. I can configure the light pattern, but the standard one works fine for me.

very visible, very cost effective, plug and play.

I just found some lights that would come in handy if you were part of a Search & Rescue Team.
I could use them in my Pilot Car Service, many of the loads have visqueen plastic wrapping on the sides of the oversize load, it gets torn & has to be repaired, this often happens during a Night time run. Instead of flashlights, we could use this. The lights can pivot 360 degrees & they will point the light beam up & down.
It could also be used to trim trees during the night time hours, which happens on narrow roads sometimes

the lights are called GO Lights
https://golight.com/lights/

not legal for Deer Jacking :)

No morimoto. I am not sure about the brand. I choice this becuase I really like the clear marker. In my case I do a retrofiting, black oit the chrome shrouds and change both projectors for bi-leds also.21513702b78572bb1e2a1ebef953a84a.jpg

i've considered it for volunteer fire, but haven't yet... not really an answer of any form, but depending how often you need it may be worth doing something like a trigger controller and having it strobe standard fog, driving, lightbar, backup, etc. lights. that way you have multi-purpose investment vs things only used when strobing. not sure if that'd fit the bill, but a lot of modern controllers seem to have strobe function.

I will do this soon in my truck. This is a good friend truck, using the Led flasher that I make, I help him to integrate the Led flasher to the factory lighting.
