So this may sound like a bit of a weird question. How long is everybody's accessories lasting? Alternator, water pump or even radiator? I know that's not an accessory. My mileage is climbing And I'm just wondering what's gonna go first or a roundabout when to expect it. My GM stuff lasted the few years i owned the vehicles Except for my s-10 which shot the rear Alternator bearing without warning.

2011 1500 4x4 crew cab. Replaced plugs x3, coils x1, oil change every 8k, trans fluid x4, brakes and rotors x1, tires x3, shocks x1, antifreeze x1, battery x1, air filter changed x1 to k&n. I'm certain I've forgot something but never anything major. Towed coast to coast, never an issue.

Sold at 150k, guy still driving it daily.

My opinion do routine maintenance per manufacturer recommendation and do break/fix when it happens

As others said, keep up the MX and repair as necessary, and maybe stay off "Route" 9, lmao, figured out where I grew up yet, hee hee. Biggest thing on these is timely MX with good parts, oil, filters etc etc. All IMHO...

My water pump died at 108K shortly after I bought the truck. AC compressor has also been replaced more recently 130K. Alternator is original.

I haven't had to replace a radiator since my 1st car, am 89 TBird. It had cooling issues from the get go. Radiator had a small crack near the fill cap. I patched it with JBWeld... twice. It worked, kept me going till I could afford to replace it. 200 bucks was a weeks pay or more back then!

2014 with 139,000. Only brakes at the 80,000k range and left wheel bearing about 4k ago. everything else is original uses no oil between changes which are done between 6 and 7k. Although I may have now jinxed myself.

2009 that i once owned, driven like a grandpa

100,000 shocks were shot, brakes were close enough, that they were done too
I sold that Ram with 144,000 miles on it, the new owner told me that the water pump went about 6 months later, mileage unknown

2015 Ram 2500, 5.7, 181,000 miles....replaced both front wheel bearings about 10,000 miles ago. A couple of u-joints, just started using the RedLine oil a few oil changes ago which reduces the ticky-tick. Replaced the battery summer of 2018. That’s about it. Mostly highway/cross country driving.
I drive pretty conservatively....except for when a kickass song is playing - then it’s balls to the wall

Starters, alternators, water pumps, etc. seem to be lasting longer on vehicles these days than the cars I grew up driving that were generally from the 70s/80s. Of course, it could also be that I was just a poor kid and always drove POS cars and used cheap replacement parts. But seriously, I had some older Toyotas and I swear the starters and alternators would go out every other oil change.

My 2014 Ram with 123K miles is on its original starter and alternator. The radiator seemed to be doing fine but was damaged during the engine replacement the dealer did recently (Lifetime Warranty). I think with the engine swap they moved my starter and alternator but am not totally sure.
