I have a 2011 1500 4x4 with a 5.7. From time to time the engine cuts off when I apply the brakes. The truck is still on but the engine just turns off. I can put the truck in neutral and fire the engine back up. I’m not posting any codes and this happens randomly. Any one else have this issue?

So does it happen only when rpm's go so low it can be considered an idle? 1,000 rpm or less, maybe a little higher. If so that could be idler valve. Check all air intake hoses.

Does it do this in tow haul mode? That might help keep you out of idle rpm when driving plus help if this is a fluid TC issue, is the trans oil level good?

Gas, air and spark. Because it only happens when brakes applied you can likely rule out gas and spark? Meaning most likely culprit air, with one monkey in the wrench being torque converter fluid.

This same scenario is happening with me. Truck stalls when stopping or braking to make a slow turn. This occurring on my 2011 1500 4x4 with a 5.7, 204,000 miles. No codes.

I noticed over the summer when hauling my camper and the truck was in tow/haul mode, the truck never stalled. To this day, when I remember to engage the tow/haul mode, the truck will not stall. As soon as I forget to engage tow/haul, I will get a stall at some point when braking. When it happens, I slide it into neutral, and it starts right up.

I did recently replace my battery, and I noticed it didn't happen for a while after that. But it is back again.

I will look into the suggestions posted above, but am curious why it will not stall in tow/haul mode? Is it electronic issue?

Thank you!
