Curious about the hours on my engine. The info center says 3,660 hours. Is that a lot for a 2011 with the 5.7l? If my math is correct that equals out to about an hour a day for the year.
3,660 hours÷9 years old = 407 hours(round up)
407 hours per year ÷ 12 months to a year=31 (again round up)
31 hours per month ÷ 30 days in a month average= about an hour per day?
Did I do my math right because that seems pretty low and it's not counting leap years!
Truck also has 113,500 miles on it which is below average for the year. I don't know maybe it is right....(walking away shaking my head)

Not sure what’s considered low or high but I have a 2010 5.7 with 101k miles and 3770 hours on the clock.

I sold my old town and country van with around 3700 hours and 147k miles on it .. but I drove it a lot of highway miles. Yours sounds pretty normal.

An hour a day is not low IMO.

I drive maybe 30 a day on average

Is this a combination of drive and idle hours? I’m thinking just drive hours given the number.

In any event the numbers sound reasonable.

I'm not sure of the history since I just purchased the truck last Wednesday. If condition is any indication I would say lots of idleing as the truck is pristine and slightly under average milage for the year. It has been a cold weather truck starting off in Minnesota before moving to Wisconsin and now resides in the U.P. of Michigan so maybe a lot of idleing on those cold winter days?
Thanks for all the feedback everyone

Unless you bought a trades person or contractor own fleet vehicle, count on roughly a quarter to third of those total hours being idle hours. If a fleet vehicle, I would estimate over half being idle hours.

General rule of thumb is 1 idle hour is roughly worth 25 miles of engine wear.

Without a known split between idle and running hours, it is a pig in a poke guess trying to estimate the true engine wear and is not worth the worry over it in my opinion.
