Hi, could some explain why my drive and idle hours would be nearly the same? This is under the engine hours gauge. Both numbers are around 450.
Truck is a 2017 5.7 with 35k miles.
Thanks!

Does it idle a lot? That seems to be what that means normally.

That is odd. My new 2023 had 4 hours idle time when I bought it with about 19 miles on it. It sat on the lot for about 2 months and was probably started and idled every week or so. It hasn't increased much since then with now 1000 miles on it.

Drive hours are simply wrong, idle sounds about right. While it is possible to drive 35k miles in 450 hours. You would have to drive about 78mph continuously.

Exactly what I was going to say. I highly doubt there is any way to average 78 mph, especially if the idle time is that high.

This has been a talked-about issue on here before. Many say that their engine hours randomly change from time to time so it is completely unreliable.

I agree, I don’t think it’s correct.

That is true, thank you. I don’t think I’ll put much stock in these values.
