My 96 Dakota 3.6L v-6 sport model 2dr extended cab. Is sucking to much air when I accelerate from a stop and when I get above 55mph the engine doesn't want to shift I have to let off acceleration then it shifts normal. . It also vibrates the dashboard and I have to let off acceleration . Also there is a rattling noise when I am driving below footboard.

I kinda doubt it's sucking too much air and would suggest that you actually have a leak in your air intake system.

Not shifting into OD at 55 is most likely the governor pressure solenoid not doing its job all the way.

Vibration at that speed would lead me to believe you have a low rpm misfire in play.

Rattling noise under the floor could be anything under the truck to be honest.

Welcome to RF and hope this helps

i dont think you can get too much air

a 92 should be fuel injected...which means a computer does the air/fuel ratio...so it will only take as much air as it needs

My knowledge is very limited on 92 dakotas, so i could be (and probably am) wrong
